Service good and the food was perfect for a Friday lunch treat. A perfect location if cycling around Rutland Water.

One of the nicest, friendliest and sweetest pubs in the area. We had our Christmas meal here. It was delicious and there was lots of it for an astoundingly cheap price. Not only that but one of our party couldn’t make it due to illness...More

Although the service and atmosphere was great unfortunately the food didn’t measure up to it. Three of our party had the roast beef lunch and the other the ham. Overall the meat was very disappointing, the beef being overlooked, dry and gristly. The ham was...More

I liked this pub. It is not trying to be a restaurant although the food is very good at a reasonable price point. This is a wealthy area and there are rather too many 'uptight' restaurants sited in old pubs but with no pub atmosphere...More

My wife and I had a most enjoyable lunch here, with just a first course being more than ample at that time of day. Good beer (Grainstore 'Cooking') and well-cooked food, promptly served with a warm smile. We shall return!

Make a point of eating here when we are in the area. I had a very tasty lasagne and others had pork loin off the specials board. Ale & wine reasonably priced too.
