Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have seen that HVTS won an award. Whilst we are not surprised we think that this is a disaster as many more people will probably want to come and share our favourite (and very excellent) place. Lunches and afternoon teas are always brilliant, well prepared and served by charming staff. Can't think of a better quality, good value and picturesque venue - sitting outside front is always great if the weather/wasps allow! So well done. But, BOO!

What a charming delightful place. Beautifully decorated, lovely china and you can take your dog either homemade treats brought with your food for the dogs!
We had a mixture of savoury choices and scones or cake!
Everything was delicious with home made sausage roll and homemade hummus being enjoyed by sone and a cream tea with delicious scones cream and jam enjoyed by others. 2 different cakes were also enjoyed.
Wonderful service good value for money and in a lovely village where you can take a stroll to walk off the sweet stuff!!

We came to visit the village for the fayre/brocante today, 04.08.24 as we was in the area on a break for a few days .
We popped into the tea rooms and the cakes looked truly divine, and the only reason we declined on this occasion, was we had only had a full English only an hour or so earlier .
Coffee was lovely and the whole atmosphere was buzzing with people visiting for the same reason. Nothing was to much trouble, even when so busy .
We spoke with one of the ladies serving us , and we explained we was out looking for new places around the area to explore , she suggested a few locally to try .
Thank you . Mannington Hall , was fabulous, and for us a bonus, as it was also a Historic House, so free .
Perfect day discovering new gems.
We will definitely visit again.

Came in with my mum and nan for tea and cake for a birthday celebration after hearing lots of nice things and I am so glad we tried this hidden gem! The shop itself is beautiful in a lovely idyllic Norfolk village.
Thick fresh sandwiches, lovely tea served in a beautiful tea set and delicious cakes. My nanny was especially pleased that the dairy free cake looked just as amazing as the rest of the cakes and I can confirm it tasted just as good! I also have to say that I think the scone with a sugar crunch on top served warm with cream and jam may have been the best scone I’ve ever tried!! Will definitely be back can’t believe I’ve only just found this spot 5 minutes down the road!

What a beautiful tea shop. Very welcoming staff with inside and outside seating. Great atmosphere inside with tables nicely spaced. Staff knew the soup of the day which is unusual for most restaurants. Special of the day included mango & leek quiche. Food freshly prepared and hot. I'm very fussy for 5 star reviews and this missed for 2 small reasons. Firstly my wife asked half way through her meal for glass of tap water and secondly we were offered credit card receipt. Neither were given. Not enough to put us off returning however and we bought vouchers for a friend's up coming birthday.

Afternoon tea for six of us to celebrate a 60th birthday. Various menu requests were all catered for as requested. The food and service was wonderful and it was good to see and not a surprise that they were busy on a grey November afternoon.

We are regulars to Heydon tearoom which is just a little over 5 miles from our home in Aylsham. More often than not we opt for the Afternoon Tea which is not only delicious, but a pure work of art. On this occasion we were using the gift vouchers that my parents kindly gave us. The food tastes amazing with only the best quality ingredients used, the staff are attentive & nothing is ever too much trouble. Cindy & Karl put their heart & soul into their small business which is why they have such a wonderful tearoom which customers will come back to time after time. Thank you so much we feel very blessed to have you on our doorstep.

A friend and I visited today for Afternoon
Tea after many recommendations. It's a gorgeous, quaint little tearoom in a picturesque village. The Afternoon Tea was the best we've had and we've been to a few. Plenty of savouries as well as sweet and everything was delicious. Contact top up of fresh tea and a little bottom take what we couldn't manage to eat home with us. We will definitely be returning. Staff were also very lovely.

My husband and I had some lunch at the tea room on Saturday and what a wonderful lunch it was. I had a bagel with pesto, mozzarella and tomato which was served with some crisps and the most amazing salad. Which was so fresh and colourful. My husband had the Rarebit which again came with a side salad. I finished off with a slice of lemon cake which has to be the lightest sponge I think I’ve ever eaten. It was delicious. My husband had one of their amazing cheese scones.
This is such an incredible tea room where you can taste the quality of the ingredients along with the love that they put into making each dish.

One of the best afternoon teas I have ever had. The selection was superb; sausage rolls, cheese straws, sandwiches, mini quiches, cakes galore. Delicate, light fluffy cakes with layers of flavour set in the backdrop of a beautiful little village with a pleasant walk and quaint little church to visit. The staff are all very friendly and Cindy was brilliant with us. Would strongly recommend.

If you have a Cream Tea on your bucket list this is the place to go. Nestled in the quite village of Heydon, you will have to look hard to find a prettier setting. Overlooking the village green and the stunning church you will be in paradise. The selection of cakes is astounding the service from the staff first class without being in you face. The tea and Coffee some of the best I have tasted in a long time. You can even enjoy a glass of Prosecco should you so choose. Believe me this is an hidden gem in the most beautiful of Norfolk settings. Try it.

We sat outside in the sunshine and whilst I enjoyed a cheese scone and a slice of lemon drizzle cake, my friend tucked into the cream tea. Our tea was served in a pretty floral tea service. It was difficult to choose the cake because there were so many on offer.
The only problems we were experienced outside were a pesky wasp and a fly which tried swimming in my tea cup. When I explained about the fly to the waiter, I was brought a fresh cup, tea and milk.
The cloakroom merits a special mention, being adorned with attractive flower pictures. The window has a leaf design.
Well worth the long drive. Never disappointing.

After a lovely walk at Blickling we drove over to Heydon. The outside back garden has been on our to do list for a while. Warmly greeted and directed round to the garden with separate covered heated wooden gazebos. Lovely polite attentive service throughout. Great tasting latte and hot chocolate. Warming cordial too ! Courgette and Brie soup plentiful and tasty served with a cheese scone for one person and a cheese and fruit chutney sandwich for another. Fantastic. The jacket potatoes generous and accompanied with a colourful salad and coleslaw. Lovely setting for a bright winter day. Thank you.
