Called in on a cold, rainy day and sat in the heated tent in the grounds with great views over Prague.Should have gone into the main building with the warm and welcoming restaurant but enjoyed the visit nevertheless. The garden area would have been great on a sunny, warm day.

Against the east wall of Strahov Monastery is Restaurant Bellarista which has an absolutely postcard perfect view of Prague. It’s panoramic view stretches from the Petrin Tower all the way to Prague Castle. In the evenings, the place comes alive with a live band playing on the mostly courtyard setting providing a musical backdrop to a beautiful city. There is... More

Up the top of the hill by the monastery. We were what we consider ourselves to be - a captive audience - it's a hike up with not much food choices at the top. So you are kind of forced into eating there if you're a bit peckish. So we had the potato soup in bread, it was potato soup... More

We stumbled across this restaurant whilst looking at the Monastery. It was quiet and there was a laid back atmosphere which was what we wanted. We sat outside in their gazebo with beautiful views of Prague and our own heater. Delicious food and brilliant beer (I recommend their blueberry beer).

Typical tourist trap complex: they have one factor that is almost impossible to beat (usually great location, unique building, historical site etc.), the tourists keep flowing in no matter what they do, and therefore the need for securing the quality of their service and products disappears, because it's cheaper to cut back on quality. The view is astonishing: one of... More

A beautiful setting, looking down over the vineyards. Fantastic views of Prague. Good lunch menu and wine list. I had the soup in a roll, which was lovely. Friendly staff

The terrace was a lovely place to sit for wine and dinner to watch the sunset over Prague. Generous portions of good food -- not gourmet but solid. Solid service. Completely amazing view!!

We had lunch here yesterday, tempted by the fantastic views over looking the gardens. We sat out which was fine, plenty of heaters and covers, also blankets provided for extra warmth whilst sitting. The restaurant was quite busy and service was quick, the food we had was a traditional Czech dish of sirloin with creamy vegetable sauce and dumplings. It... More

We went to lunch with friends. It took a full 50 minutes to get a beer and a glass of warm wine. Our food took longer-- a hamburger, a goulash soup, a salmon and a steak. The beer was good, but its price was the highest I've seen in Prague (109 Kc). The goulash was barely hot, and had too... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
