Just below the Castle, this restaurant is located at the first floor of an old Palace. Nicely decorated in an antique style, we discovered this place for a late lunch, and really enjoyed the quiteness of this restaurant, which offered is a kind of pause in another time during our visit of Prague. The service is welcoming and efficient, the... More

The place is really perfect for a romantic dinner, candle on the table, nice decoration and elegant place. The service is just perfect, nice efficient and classy. And of course the food is at the level of the place, delicate raffined and tasty for a quality/price pretty good at the end. We really enjoyed and will come back for sure... More

While on our first trip to this beautiful city with another couple, the four of us went out for a special treat on our last night in the majestic, old world, Palffy Palac Club, which apparently houses a music school. From the minute we entered the building and headed up the stairs we were greeted by the beautiful sounds of... More

Visited hear on a recommendation from a friend in the UK, and it is certainly worth the visit. Food is a change from the general touristy fodder, well cooked and delivered in an interesting environment. My wife had goats cheese in filo to start, followed by sea bass in coconut, and I had tiger prawns followed by sweetbreads. Desserts were... More

We stumbled on this restaurant when last in Prague in 1997. I think the previous reviewer who complained about the poorly lit and undecorated staircase has entirely missed the point: the wonderful thing about this place is the discovery of the candlelit dining room after such an unprepossessing approach. Whether intentional or not this was the magic of the place... More

I went to this place more than 10 years ago and I was determined not to return until they do something at least with this half derelict, probably looking posh a 100 years ago, staircase. I could not believe now that it still the same as during my visit 10+ years ago - with probably no maintenance or a coat... More

Somewhat hidden away (family tip-off), on a quiet street near the Charles Bridge, the Palffy Palace was a real highlight. To dine in the historical building in opulent bohemian surroundings (after entering via the more 'bohemian chic' slightly scruffy stair and found the restaurant entrance) is an experience in itself. Slight twists on recognizable restaurant favourites (giant succulent tiger prawns... More

The PALFFY PALACE Restaurant (not sure why it's called Palac Club on the listing) is a hidden gem and certainly worth a lot of praise. The service, although not top professional is good and friendly and the food outstanding. Try the Foie Gras it’s fabulous and the Lamb was one of the best I’ve had in ages. Very beautifully decorated... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
