This place is a rip off. They should be closed down by the police at it is extortion. The beers we had were 3 times the price of any other bar in Prague (120 crowns) and a bad cheese toasty was 150 crowns. I overheard...More

This restaurant is just outside Prague Castle and therefore we expected to pay more than usual but wasn't expecting to be charged 50 crowns as a cover charge and a further 100 crowns as a tip. The drinks where very expensive 125 crowns for a...More

Ok, so this is a lovely cosy place to eat for lunch. The young waiter is efficient and attentive and the local area near near the castle is expensive. Make sure you ask him about every charge while you order. When you get the bill...More

This place is a total rip-off. Prices are three times as high compared to other restaurants in the area. Luckily I discovered this before I placed the order but the behaviour of the restaurant staff and the waiter in particular was totally inacceptable. Stay away...More

This is what the proprietor said to us as we left. We contested a 50koruna cover charge per person when we had each only ordered a soup (88 koruna). We were VERY rudely told it was written down, only in CZECH!!! We couldn't read it....More

Wish we had read the reviews before sitting down. We ordered 4 toasties, 2 beers and 2 cokes. It came to 3000 crown. About £100 in English. Guy was really friendly and very polite, until we questioned the bill. He added a charge for crisp...More

Your experience in Prague will never be complete if
you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched
from the west to the north, provide spectacular views
of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone
streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green
gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses.
Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history.

It is only a cafe on the way to the Prague Castle. However, they are really taking advantage of unsuspecting tourists and I would like to report them. Last weekend, March 13, 2010, I was there with 5 tourists from Germany and they charged us CZK 195 = EUR 8 = USD 11 for 1 small shot of Becherovka, a local liquor. They took advance of the fact that tourists don't look into the drink menus, assuming the price will be the same as elsewhere. The price in other places ranges from 3* establishment - CZK 30 to CZK 95 in a 4* and the Four Seasons Hotel in Prague - a 5* hotel with superior service and location charged only CZK 170 in their bar. This R & R cafe is a "hole in the wall" small cafe with a few tables and surly service. 1 whole liter bottle of Becherovka in a supermarket costs about CZK 200 - . So, yes, we should have looked at the menu, but no, they are grossly overcharging and taking advantage of our tourist. Prague deserves better! It's a wonderful city. Don't frequent this cafe!
