This is a traditional Czech canteen with genuine local food and affordable prices. Dish are simple but traditional and yummy. I enjoyed the pork steak with cheese and mushrooms. The beer is also ok. When I am in Prague I visit the place regularly.

After visiting the Church of Our Lady Victorious (Infant of Prague) in Mala Srana, Ferdinanda is the perfect spot to enjoy the best in local sausage and beer! Both are excellent. The menu also offers many other traditional Czech dishes that looked delicious. Servers are quick, efficient, and pleasant. Located in the lower level of a building nearly across from... More

Lots of small rooms, interesting place. Not touristy. The blue cheese garlic toast was awesome. House-made beer was very good and cheap. Service was very friendly.

Went to this restaurant due to the good reviews on Tripadvisor, but found that I didn't enjoy it as much as the other (some slightly cheaper) restaurants I have been to in Prague. The food was tasty and the beers were great, but there wasn't much atmosphere in the restaurant. While it wasn't packed, there were other diners around, but... More

More locals than tourists, slightly hidden but in the very heart of Prague. It's a chain which in this case means that it is reliable. Great value for the money, nice atmosphere - still Czech but with an alternative twist. One of the best beef goulash stews in town and a unique opportunity to try the Ferdinand brewery beers -... This truly is one of those places that you have to know its there otherwise you wind up eating at the mediocre overpriced meals with the poor schleps at the tourist traps. Try the Goulash or the Chicken with Prunes and almonds. We will definitely be back. **if you visit in the warmer months it can be warm and a... More

The restaurant was packed but as we were only going for some drinks we found a nice nook in the pub side and sampled some... More

Ferdinanda is conveniently located between Prage Railway Station and Wenceslas Square. But this isn't a tourist restaurant... although there were a few savvy tourists there on the 2 occasions we ate there. This is your local pub food but way above that standard. Inexpensive great local food... no airs or graces oo fancy setting. Just brilliant food and really good... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
