It was a very cold day and, after visiting the Castle, we needed a warm place to relax a bit. Cafe Salmovsky Palac was the right choice. Nice place, friendly staff, very confortable. In summertime they also have a wonderful terrace with a fantastic view of the castle and of the city.

Delicious warm mead is so perfect on an icy winter's day. We enjoyed a quick lunch in between museum touring. I had the potato cake with spinach and salmon, which was light yet filling. Somehow it didn't sound that great but with the warm beverage, I was very happy.

Reasonably priced drinks and food in very pleasant, clean surroundings instead of eating street food, well worth a little eaxtra money for the quality of food and service

We only had coffee here, but did so because of the marvellous view from the terrace. It was a bit chilly, but there were heaters to ward off the cold. The coffee was good and strong - just the thing to keep you fired up for a day of sight-seeing. Friendly service.

Great for a lunch or drink stop while visiting the castle area. Very friendly service and perhaps the best view over Prague from the outside Terrace. Not a very large menu, but everything was tasty. We were a party of 5, all ordering different items. Reasonable prices given the great location.

We made reservations for lunch here and were glad we did, as it was totally packed. We had a hard time finding it, but we shouldn't have, as it is right next to the Salm Palace. A nice selection of lunch options. Be sure to ask for outside dining if the weather is good, as the views are beautiful!

We had a private farewell tour group dinner here. The food and the setting was truly fantastic. The staff were amazing and even timed things so that they took the lids off meals at the same time in a big flourish. Quite a cool touch. We started with drinks on the balcony which has a fantastic view over Prague. Inside... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
