Large beers, noisy tvs and lots of old men -a classic Irish pub. The staff were friendly and the burgers were delicious. This pub is so classic it could be anywhere in the world, or in Ireland itself. Good stuff.

Is an old fashioned pub that could easily fit in any central european town. Cheap beer, friendly staff and non-smoking. A little hidden but well worth finding as it's a couple of minutes walk from the expensive spots.

Such a lovely cosy pub in Prague. A stroll off the old town square but certainly well worth a visit. The food is so so tasty. Had dinner there plus a full Irish breakfast both were the very best. Had a few beers there a couple of nights. The staff are so welcoming and chatty. Cleanliness is top class. Certainly... More

Just returned from a weekend break here and I have to say the James Joyce was a highlight of the trip. From the minute you enter till you leave you are made to feel welcome. The staff were a pleasure to deal with. Great selection of food at competitive prices. The range of live sports showing on the selection of... More

I visited the pub on my own as I was staying in a holiday apt opposite and my friend left a day earlier than me. The beer is great- classic Guiness plus an Irish IPA, all the usual Czech lager staples and a couple of guest beers which were both great. On a quiet Sunday night I was made to... More

I have argued with an Irish limericist, kissed an Austrian count, ended up leaving for a midnight unplanned three day bike ride to the countryside , and drank until I couldn't stumble back without closing one eye. Best pub ever. Ever.

While visiting Prague, I revisited James Joyce Pub after two years due to the good memories of the place. And we were certainly not disappointed, James Joyce Pub is still fantastic. Food and drinks are very good at fair prices. The live music was nice as well. However what really makes this pub outstanding is the splendid friendly service which... More

In the 1990s, numerous Czech natives went to Ireland during its tech and call center boom. When the bubble burst and those Czech came home, they had grown so accustomed to Irish cuisine that one of them opened this great pub that showcases great Irish food and beer. We've been here on several trips to Prague, most recently with our... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
