This restaurant is part of an award-winning brewery. The beer choice was excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food very tasty. Unless you have an exceedingly strong stomach.....avoid the beer cheese!

We had pre-booked a table for Christmas Eve dinner and were glad we did. This is only a small restaurant and they were very busy with locals and tourists, some people were turned away who walked in off the street. The two ladies were very friendly and the food as simple yet tasty, my husband particularly liked the green beans... More

On our last night in Prague, me and my boyfriend wanted to eat close to the hotel and we chose Pivovarsky dum. This was a mistake. From the minute we walked in the door we were overlooked by the waitress who was extremely rude and was obviously lacking common desency. First she did not want to give us a table... More

On main tram route and 10 mins from centre this restaurant offered prices well below city centre prices .But the price did not mean that the meals were not to to a good standard . we went there twice in our short visit to prague . The staff were attentive and pleasant both times the place was busy but they... More

I agree with other reviewers that one end of the bar looks lovely and the other pretty bland. We were seated in the bland end! They have menus available in English. We had fun with the beer sampler and they had some lovely and different beers (nettle beer is actually pretty tasty!). The food arrived extremely quickly but was very... More

Myself and my partner arrived in Prague a couple of days ago and this was the first restaurant we came across close enough to our hotel, but unfortunately was the worst experience of our holiday! There are 2 sides to the restaurant, one side has lovely low lighting, looks very cultural and a nice place to dine, however the other... More

As the title suggests, this restaurant is a good value for money. The plates we ordered were decent in quality and quantity. The atmosphere is also pleasant, although the complete lack of music was quite annoying.

I was there with some friends. We had dark and wheat beer (and also a so-called beer tasting). The beer is really good but I cannot say the same when it comes to food. We had goulash, mushroom, rabbit and some other meat dishes. Considering the prices the taste is not worth it. So next time I will visit but... More

Fun to have the selection of beers. Banana, Sour Cherry, Vanilla, Coffee, Nettle Flavoured Beers in 1 dl glasses. The three more were a bit dull- wheat, dark and light. Could have been more interesting like the five were. The restaurant was full when we got there but had to wait only few minutes. Reasonable prices. The waitresses had full... More

The locall brewed beer is excellent as expected (unfiltered tasty pale and dark - we didn't try the specialties such as banana or coffe or sour cherry beers...). The dishes were mediocre at most: meat and "knedly" quite on the dry side. Anyway worth a stop, especially as we had been repelled by the outside looks of the "U Kalcha",... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
