What a gem in the old town section of Gdansk! Bartek, our waiter, took care of us the entire evening! I was so happy to make a reservation online before we left the U.S. This is a small place but big on style and deliciousness!...The restaurant used to be a bank before WWII and Bartek showed us photos of the building after the repeated bombings. It is miraculous how the area has been restored. The food was awesome! I was hoping try their pork tenderloin dish but a very large group of guests all ordered it and the Canis was out of it before we could order. Instead I had the veal schnitzel and my husband ordered the lamb entree. All was delicious! Bartek convinced my husband to try the Polish wines and he really liked them, too. Don't let the road construction in front of the restaurant deter you from dining at Canis!More

We went here on Saturday evening . The staff were knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco but the waiter recommended “polish champagne “ so glad he did it was delicious. We had bread with amazing flavoured buttered . And range of main...meals from tenderloin, fish and huge burger. The side dishes were brilliant - dill roasted potatoes!! I would go again just for that . So glad we came here !!More

Canis in Gdańsk proved to be a delightful dining experience for my family and me. On our recent visit, accompanied by my spouse and nine-year-old daughter, we indulged in both appetizers and main courses. The restaurant excelled in every aspect, from the quality of raw...materials to the craftsmanship behind each dish. The flavors were sophisticated yet thoroughly pleasing, showcasing a high culinary standard. Our waiter's service was impeccable—attentive, efficient, and genuinely friendly. An added touch was the brief history of the restaurant's charming building she shared with us, enhancing our overall experience. Canis is a must-visit for anyone looking for exceptional food and service in a setting that respects and reflects its historical backdrop.More

My wife and I, together with another couple of good old friends, dined at Canis on our first night in Gdansk, mainly due to the proximity to our hotel at Dlugi Targ and the positive reviews we had read. And we were surely not disappointed...(although we came to understand that Canis is not the cheapest of the leading restaurants in Gdansk). Excellent food and drink, attentive service, and a pleasant and location. Wholly recommended, unless you are on a slim budget!More

I would go back to Gdansk just to eat here again! The best meal we’ve ever had. We ate halibut and wagy beef and it blew our minds - the service was also amazing. You just have to eat at Canis!

Magnificent. The food was exceptional fare, tasty and stylish. We tried a bottle of their Polish white which was gorgeous and the perfect pairing with our meals. The atmosphere was chilled yet buzzing, making us feel relaxed as soon as we walked in. The staff...get an extra thumbs up for bringing a balance between professionalism, humour and helpfulness. This is clearly a place where staff are happy, and it all adds up to something you just can't fake - a dining experience firing on all cylinders.More
