Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had high expectations after reading reviews here on Tripadvisor, nevertheless we were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. We frequently enjoy dining at restaurants across Europe and are generally not ‘fussy eaters’, however the food here was nothing more than basic and...devoid of texture with very poor delivery. After a couple of tentative mouthfuls, we didn’t eat our appetisers as they were both mono textured, precooked plates that had very little going for them. Main courses didn’t improve the situation and we left the restaurant hungry and unhappy. This is probably the worst restaurant experience we have had to date anywhere in Europe. It’s worth noting that when removing full plates of food, we were told by restaurant staff that there was a new chef and the bulk of good reviews are related to the previous. We hope that this is temporary issue and that standards improve, however we will not be returning to find out.More

We opted to explore this restaurant's intriguing Polish-Jewish fusion menu. For starters, we shared the chopped liver with caramelized onions. It was a smooth and rich spread, balanced beautifully by the sweetness of the onions. My companion then chose the chłodnik, a chilled beetroot soup....The vibrant red color was a feast for the eyes, and the soup itself offered a refreshing and slightly sweet taste. For the main course, I opted for the gulasz, a Hungarian stew with origins in Poland. The slow-cooked beef was meltingly tender, bathed in a rich and flavorful sauce. My companion selected the matzo ball soup with roasted chicken. The fluffy matzo balls added a delightful texture, while the chicken provided a hearty element to the comforting broth. Feeling pleasantly satiated, we decided to skip dessert this time. However, the rugelach on the menu did look particularly tempting. Overall, the restaurant offered a well-executed fusion of Polish and Jewish cuisines. The dishes were flavorful and well-presented, with generous portions. The service was efficient and unobtrusive. I would recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a unique and satisfying dining experience.More

Spending an evening at Kapłony i Szczeżuje restaurant was a true culinary delight, opening doors to the fascinating world of Polish-Jewish flavors. I embarked on my gastronomic journey with the saffron-infused cucumber soup with creamy broth, which not only warmed my palate but also made...me feel at home. Next, I indulged in the Kiev-style cutlet, which delighted me with its tender meat and perfect pairing with mashed potatoes with spring onions and cucumber salad. For dessert, the exceptional pudding made from challah, apples, egg yolks, and cream with caramel-rosemary sauce was a culinary masterpiece. The atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming, and the staff exceptionally professional. I will definitely return here to continue my flavor explorations!More

Amazing polish cousin in the heart of inspiring Kazimierz. Menu is based on local products and it offers the most interesting choices when it comes to Polish restaurants in Krakow. It’s not popular pierogi or schabowy because it comes back to the roots and it...gives you an incredible experience overall with outstanding service and remarkable choice of Polish vodkas and distillates. Extraordinary, really affordable wine list closes the deal. Definitely MUST EAT in Krakow! (recommend by locals;))More

A couple of days I had the great pleasure, together with my friends, to taste what chef Agnieszka Kraszewska and chef Aleksander Baron, who moved to Krakow, cooked for our group. The tasting began with the appetizer - veal brain in tartar sauce. Remember that...the history of tartar sauce has nothing to do with Tartars, and why - I will also discuss this in my book "Sztukamięs ze szlachtuza. The Untold History of Meat." Then appetizers: an outstanding goose breast from Mrs. Renata Osojca, the queen in this field ❤️. Jewish catfish in jelly – very noble and delicate. Duck tongues 🤩 in cinnamon sauce and herrings in linen ouil 💪. Additionally, we were served distillates that I didn't drink, but I smelled: potato, oat and corn - made by renowned Polmos Siedlce. I liked the Warsaw tripe soup the most, probably because I've never eaten such good ones 🫶🫶✌️. Since it's Warsaw style, it is served with meatballs, parmesan and ginger - just as it was served in the Polish capital in the past, about which various distinguished journalists, poets, writers, gourmets and drinkers wrote paeans. Chefs also prepared for us cream with fresh ginger for the tripe and it was poetry. The tripe was spicy on the tip of the tongue, and at the beginning – had a flavor of marjoram with a delicious broth. Mini-shaped and delicate meatballs. Then the kitchen served us steamed carp, served in a classic gray sauce, which was even written about in old French cookbooks. There was also mashed potatoes with saffron. The last main course was cabbage rolls with buckwheat, duck and caramelized onion, bread crumbs in butter and a sauce based on famous Polish "śliwowica" and duck. The only dish I didn't try because of my diet. But I heard whispers that "tres magnifique" And now get ready to visit!More

This was my partner's and I first night in Krakow and we had pre booked this excellent restaurant. From the moment we entered to the minute we left we received exceptional service from our waiter Max. The food was absolutely excellent. We shared a starter...of hare pate. My partner had the French style chicken and I took Max's recommendation of the duck leg. We also tried some Polish white wine which was fantastic. Finally we shared a desert based on Max's recommendation.....Crepes Suzette which was cooked at our table by the chef and accompanied by the pianist who had been playing all night. Magic. What a great experience and certainly set the tone for our visit to Krakow. Thank you so muchMore

We were looking for a good meal and we really found it. I thought I'd made a reservation - which I would recommend - but I had misunderstood the Polish. They were able to seat the four of us and were warm and gracious throughout....You can tell they are very proud f their cuisine and with good reason. Lots of Jewish specialties and local sourced ingredients combined in new, lighter ways. There was lovely, unobtrusive piano and the meal and experience felt special, delicious and unique.More
