We ordered two vegetarian items, potato pancakes, baked celery and "chlodnik" soup. Pancakes terrible inappropriate potatoes, the cake was not fully fried, soaked in fat - completely unsuccessful. On the other hand, the baked celery was very tasty, the composition of flavors matched perfectly and I will definitely come back to this position. I do not recommend the soup, it lacked basic ingredients such as fresh cucumber or radish. Botwina was tough. Service 5/10.

Great atmosphere and superb staff

I absolutely loved the atmosphere and decoration of this restaurant. Feels small and intimate. Our waiter was really welcoming and friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and a good size and reasonably priced. My partner had the pork knuckle which was hot and tasty. I had the potato goulash pancake, which although tasty was luke warm and I prefer my hot dishes to be pipingly hot. However overall we had a lovely meal

Worth trying

Great place both for family dinner or casual night meeting. We have been three times during a few days stay. Delicious dishes. We tried both vegetarian and traditional versions ( mushroom balls with potatoes and beetroom - a variation of traditional Polish cusine. We've tried also wine and desserts and they wete good. Very friendly staff. Beautiful decor. Worth trying

A dreamlike place

Simply perfect. The regional dishes were my surprising highlight last night. I tried three dishes. A dream. The Zurek soup, the beef tartare and the apple tart for dessert were worth the visit! And the staff were very attentive. I'd love to come back. I found it thanks to this portal. Dziękuję!

It's nice to hear that you can also find dishes from excellent Polish cuisine here! The last time we were here (some time ago), we could unfortunately only find items on the menu that are usually only associated with coffee houses. So we stuck with coffee and cake. Both were good and cheap, but we ended up eating somewhere else. When we come back to Bytgoszcz, we will definitely stop here, because we really liked the atmosphere at Katarynka. Beautiful, tasteful decor, friendly staff and also a very nice location with a great view of the Rynek. We are already looking forward to it.

We held a dinner to say goodbye to some colleagues who were leaving Bydgoszcz at the end of their contract. The meal was enjoyed by all, the food was excellent and the service was its usual very high standard. The staff were very friendly and professional. I have also stayed in the apartments and can highly recommend Katarynka to all.

Big disappointment

On September 5th in the evening we went to this place. Based on Google reviews. I ordered steak tartare. I received the dish and asked for magic. The waiter with a strange, ironic smile on his face said that there was no magic and they did not serve it with steak tartare. He then commented on my request with three women at the next table. "Some people don't know what magic is for" etc. When I said he shouldn't do it. The woman at the next table addressed me in an unpolite manner. After a while, another waitress brought some magic and explained the waiter Michał's behavior by saying that he was new I didn't receive butter for the bread, I had to ask, and no one thought to ask me. Aperol is served in the wrong glasses. If you want to spend time in a nice atmosphere and expect good service, I do not recommend this place

Disgusting.

Time of waiting for food 50minutes. Beef cheeks dried a lot. Looks like heated food from the weekend. Disgusting. Visited this „restaurant” on Tuesday. Small portions. No recommend at all.

Meal was ok ! We liked it but not the best , staff were friendly and was a nice restaurant ! I’m probably a little more criticle as I’m Polish and in comparison to my mums food ! But it was nice can’t complain .

The restaurant is located in the center of the old town near the square. There is a terrace with a nice view and a great atmosphere. In general, the restaurant made a great impression thanks to the pleasant calm atmosphere, colorful interior, professional service and delicious dishes. I especially liked the soup. A cute piece of wonderful Poland that left wonderful impressions and memories :)

A lovely meal on our adventure to Bydgoszcz ❤️

What a lovely restaurant, beautiful decor as well as food. Staff were really attentive and really looked after us. We chose to book here looking at the reviews on Tripadvisor and we certainly wasn’t disappointed! A must visit restaurant and I recommend booking in advance as its does get busy.

A faultless experience

We enjoyed a perfectly cooked meal with a really nice bottle of red wine , served by the charming Michael. This visit was exceptional value and it was faultless....well done to all.

Good food, no distance... I mean really..?

Don't get me wrong, food was great! What wasn't great, was the lack of distance between seats. It's December, it's cold, and Covid is surging in the world, and especially in Poland. We reserved a table for 5, and got seated right next to the window, where a lovely couple, were practically sitting right up against me and my 85 year-old grandfather, and next to my 78 year-old grandma and my 62 year-old dad was a teeny-tiny divider and then another occupied 2-person table. Only reason I didn't leave, was because my family asked me to not make scene. It's a really bad signal to send, and it shows me that the restaurant doesn't care about my or my family's health. Just money. I did like the food, but I will not be returning to this place. Because if they do not care about my, my family's or even their own servers health, they don't deserve my money.

Very slow service

It took very long time to make an order and waiter was clearly disappointed we wanted just warm drinks. Then we had to wait for our drinks and for bill too.
