Excellent food, great setting, in total tongue in cheek mockery of the communist era. The menu is divided in proletariat level dishes and members of the dignitaries/bourgeoisie level ones. Very clever, wood everywhere, paintings, courtesy of the staff, a must visit in Warsaw. It's the big brother of the Folk Gospoda restaurant, which is not far from it. The name... More

Our agents booked a table here for an informal business dinner. It's a firm favourite of theirs and it's easy to see why. The amazing aroma that hits you when you walk in, the intriguing decor - rustic but smart, casually formal - and the food, all top notch. Every restaurant with character needs a good back story too, and... More

Great meal for the money. You can live high on the hog or dine with fare fit peasants. All the food is great. The wild boar is amazingly tender, The fried beet root is a close second, even the salad is memorable. Was too stuffed for desert. So whether on a budget or not there is a traditional polish meal... Great introduction to Polish food. Fabulous decor and a huge painting of all the old communist leaders having a merry old night (especially Fidel). Nice food good service. Recommend the boar.

Visited the place twice for 2 days. Each time wth pleasure. Recommend local dishes: stake Limousine, duck, stake with troufel oil etc. Good beer. Service was also very nice.

Great Traditional Polish food. Worth a visit just to see the decor. It is one of my favourite places to eat in Warsaw and this is my second visit to this restaurant. Service is great, along with a great menu. There is a large mural on the wall with all the communist leaders towards the back of the restaurant. Recommend... More

"the Inn Under The Red Hog" - a restaurant offering mainly traditional Polish cuisine, and "specialities" from former Socialist-Bloc countries Yugoslavia, German Democratic Republic, USSR, Czechoslovakia. I've been told the Hog got its name from a meetingplace of the early communist movement in the early 1900's. The restaurant's interior style is from the 1950's, with memorabilia of that time, but... Traditional Polish food, with a workers' and a party leaders' section. What really makes this place, though, is all of the communist kitsch within. See if you can identify each of the leaders on the large mural towards the back of the restaurant.

The place is decorated in the Soviet style and is quite an interesting place to visit... but not to eat. I can hardly remember such poor quality of food served somewhere at a decent restaurant. All traditional food, that is usually very tasty was completely unedible. Not a single dish was at least OK. From the whole variety of food... More

The specific restaurant is really overrated. We went there with expectations and we left quiet disappointed. The food was good, but not something special. Our table was near the toilet, although the restaurant was nearly empty and that because we didn't make a reservation before. And generally the staff had weird behaviour and not very friendly. I wouldn't recommend it.
