During our city trip we went to the restaurant next to Hilda but it was full, so we tried Hilda. I am so happy we did! (we tried other next day , also nice :) ) But Hilda is sparkling clean place, very nice service, and the food.. There is no words, from starters to dessert it was sublime. It's a perfect place, chic, calm but not too much. Just the perfect dose of everything, if you in Budapest, you MUST eat there.. Honestly, it's a place that worth the Michelin stars (if they don't have any, I actually didn't checked) Prices are very attractive, I would pay even a bit more for the quality of food you get at Hilda's

This place is definitely a hidden gem and a must visit for travelling foodies! The food was absolutely faultless and the service was too. The interior is beautiful and I can’t believe it wasn’t more busy. How this doesn’t appear on more of the top lists of places to eat I have no clue. I had the pork chop (picture attached) and my girlfriend had the paprikash. It was so good we both actually considered ordering the same dish again! I’m glad we didn’t because the two deserts we got were amazing. We had the Apple mille-feuille and the Chocolate-Salted Caramel (on recommendation). If you are on the fence, just book!

The restaurant is very cosy, well decorated, waiters polite and quick, food eas tasty. Only objection is that the smell of food is very strong when you're eating because the cook is right there where you can see him cooking. And there is a selection of only 5 main courses, a few more would be ideal.

We went for breakfast. Unfortunately we didn't realise there was live music until we had sat down or we would have left. I say music, awful, tuneless, monotonous plunking.
I ordered eggs benedict, ham you have to order separately, so not eggs benedict! It was all cold, the hollandaise had an unpleasant sour taste and one of the eggs was still mostly raw. A lot of raw egg white came out when I cut it. I pointed this out and, to their credit, they replaced the entire dish although I had eaten the other egg and the mushrooms. However, when I cut into the new egg it was clear they were cold boiled eggs (see photo), not poached, and still raw in the middle. Also they don't toast the brioche so it was just a cold soggy mess served with half a glass of tepid coffee

Dined here after finding it online and reading reviews but it wasn’t as good as I expected. The food comes very quickly, we had 3 courses in less than an hour, and the mains we only luke warm, although we didn’t complain. It was quite empty in there at 7pm on a Saturday despite other reviews saying a reservation was necessary. We had goulash to start with was piping hot and delicious and the desserts were also nice.

We loved the eclectic decor of this place. Kind of Turkish bath meets industrial warehouse. The salad of fennel and Jerusalem artichoke purée was divine as was the braised prune stuffed duck leg. But the chicken paprikash was so awful I couldn’t eat it. Overdone, tough chicken in a gelatinous “sauce” made for one of the worst meals ever. Service was very friendly though. Just try a different chicken recipe which seems to get raves.

We chose this venue for our 'fancy' dinner in Budapest. It was nice... not much more to say. The food came out VERY quickly, so we had to tell them to slow down otherwise we would have been out of there in 30 minutes! But once we asked them to do so, the pace of the dining was fine. The food was very nice, the venue was also very nice.

Hilda was recommended to us by a friend who lives in Budapest & was very conveniently located very close to our hotel, so it was ideal for our first night of our holiday.
I read the reviews & booked a table. We received a warm welcome when we arrived.
The chicken had been highly recommended, so thats what we both ordered. We asked if the House white wine was dry & were told that it was a dry, light Hungarian wine, so we ordered a bottle to accompany our meal.
Both the chicken & the wine were delicious, the staff were friendly & attentive.

The food was very good, in particular the signature chicken dish with the roasted pumpkin! Really tasty and lovely flavour combinations. The beef goulash tasted delicious but the portion was very small for the price, I did query with the server as it only contained three small pieces of beef and they bought me an additional small portion over when queried. If the original portion size had include that I would have been more satisfied. It was however exceptionally tasty and full of flavour. The deconstructed apple dessert really was lovely and presented beautifully. The drinks were a little pricier than some of the other restaurants we visited, in particular the cocktails, however they were made well. I’d highly recommend as the standard of food was excellent but overall on the pricier side in Budapest.

Disappointment: tasteless and significantly overpriced. The restaurant's ambiance is quite nice and inviting. The menu is very short, which might lead one to assume that these few dishes would be flavorful. We chose the chicken (€25.30 including service) and a goulash (€26.45 including 15% service). The goulash was nearly flavorless. The chicken was visually appealing, but the skin was tough, and the meat itself was very bland or simply seasoned with paprika. There were salt and pepper shakers on the table, which you wouldn't expect in this price range—unless the chef lacks confidence in their skills. Anyone looking for a tasty meal will be disappointed here

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at this very good restaurant.
The food was delicious and made with love for great food and taste, and all details were perfect. It was clearly made and served with a deep passion for great dining.
The waiter and waitresses were very friendly and helpful and we felt so well looked after. What more could we ask for?
Finally the atmosphere was cozy, unique and romantic.
Thank you, if we are back Budapest then we will be back!

We loved this restaurant from its beautiful decor to the superbly prepared food and fine wines! There were several gluten free options (appropriately marked). I chose the bone-in chicken breast and I've never had more flavorful, moist chicken. We were very happy with their house white wine (from their vineyards) and the service was very attentive. Overall - an excellent dinner!

Farm to plate, Hungarian dishes with cosy, relaxed surroundings. We felt very at home in Hilda and excited when we saw our Co-diners’ dishes being served…rightfully so, as the meal was delicious and hearty. I wish I knew our waitress’s name because she was lovely. The blue/gold decor was beautiful and the food was fresh, simple yet enticing, and I just had an amazingly awesome time…an absolute must for visitors to Budapest looking for a chilled, tasty and friendly evening meal…loved everything about Hilda - thank you xx
