I would rate the food a 5, but the service barely warrants 1, therefore I averaged to 3. The wait staff was disinterested and sometimes rude.

We had a wonderful evening and lovely meal to celebrate two wonderful friends birthday. The food was fabulous and Denes our waiter looked after us really well. We have had other good meals whilst we have been in Budapest but this was the best by far and great value for money with fabulous Strudel.

Great food! Big portions (good value) and very good meat. Hearty meals and good wine. Would have given the Schnapps a miss - we assumed it was complimentary but not the case. Very fun basin in the ladies! Friendly service.

The atmosphere was pleasant - I know its specialty was strudel, but I found the savory strudel to be only average. The chocolate souffle was yummy though!

My husband and I came here for lunch today full of excitement as we read so many good reviews about the restaurant. We ordered the sharing Hungarian selection for 2 (which was about 12,000 HUF). I would say only the roasted duck leg was good, but the remainder's quality is far lower than the price. The pork legs weren't soft... More

Everything in Budapest is cheap, this is one of the more expensive places but even so we got 2 pieces of strudel, an orange juice, and a coffee for $7! The strudel was great too! I would recommend going while in Budapest!

NOT WORTH going, unless you don't want to try a new variety of strudels. They have the BEST COFFEE = Julius Meinl & even Cabbage or Sauerkraut Strudel. It's like a museum inside and the bathroom sinks are very strange. Staff not so friendly :{

Went twice to this restaurant just for the strudel. Came across it on our urban adventure food walking tour and walked for 20 minutes the next night to have desert. Lots to choose from and one better than the next - watch the film to learn how its made .... Just delicious!

This place offers fine dining and a casual atmosphere at reasonable prices. The food and wine were excellent, and we tried one of the strudels too!

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
