Nice position of the restaurant. Food is not unforgetable, but tasteful. We payed more that we planed and got the bill without specification. Something i didnt expect in one european capital.

Just opposite the Basilica, this restaurant serves traditional Hungarian dishes and also offers pizzas and pasta dishes (if you need a break from local food). Very friendly service and very decently priced.

We visited this restaurant in the evening, it was empty what surprised us, because the it's just next to one of the most famous monuments in Budapest. Atmosphere was nice. Our waiter wasn't very friendly but as least was able to speak in English. What was worst was the menu. Very confusing, bad translation and not clear at all. After... More

Very nice place on the side street to the right of the Basilica as you stand in front of it. I ate here twice with two different waiters both of whom were welcoming and spoke decent English. I highly recommend the Hungarian beef goulash soup its fantastic I had it twice! Only fault was that I asked for lasagna and... More

Went here last week on a cold night. A very warm welcome awaited me. Weiner Schnitzel was excellent. The Gundel pancakes had the best chocolate sauce I have tasted in Budapest. Overall a very positive experience.

We stopped her after getting a wee bit lost and were hungry and tired. They were very honest to let us know the portions were good size as we could have kept ordering since we were so hungry. We ordered the Hungarian plate for appetizer. If you just ordered this with some drinks it would have filled two people up.... More

The goulash was okay but the vegetarian meal was very greasy and had meat in it. We wouldn't visit this restaurant again. It's a shame because the location is quite good.

We are here last night as we noticed the extensive list of Hungarian food we could try. Waiters were friendly enough although could have been slightly more attentive- particularly as we were pretty much the only diners!!! Location is lovely, right on the edge of the square next to the St Stephens basilica. The food was good if different for... More

District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history.
