Ate here on our last night in Budapest. I ordered spaghetti carbonara (my favourite meal in the whole world!) but I was a little nervous as I have tried carbonara in many countries and it never seems to be on the same standard as ones I have tried in Italy but it was lovely. I suppose it is quite expensive... More

Our first night in Budapest and we had not booked anywhere so went to Cucina on Vaci Street which looked really nice from the outside. Service could have been slightly better, they just did not seem very happy. Ordered a garlic pizza bread to start and it was just 4 slices in a basket and they were pretty crispy and... More

Was our last night in Budapest, and we had walked by this restaurant several times and decided to give it a try! And I wish we hadn't waited so long!!! The pasta was amazing! And to top it off the service was friendly and attentive! Very nice way to end our trip in Budapest!

Was there on saturday 4th of March for lunch. Got the most rude service that i a have ever gotten. Some people should not work in the service industry and that is true with one of the waiters in this restaurants. It was a pity because the pizza and my wifes pasta was not bad. But the rudeness just ruined... More

We received good service from the moment we stepped in, we had a nice table and enjoyed good Italian food. The wine selection was good and the waiters were helpful when making a choice.

We stopped here to have lunch after needing a break from sightseeing. My sister and I ordered the pasta, both dishes were fine and what you'd expect from a touristy type Italian eatery. Waiters were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. I'd probably come here again although was a little more expensive than some other places we have visited on... More

Discovered Comme Chez Soi was closed Sundays so chose Cucina as nearest Italian. What a double disappointment. We ordered olives to nibble with aperitif while perusing the menu. We had to ask 4 times and they only arrivedafter almost half an hour, just minutes before the food. How long does it take to put a scoop of olives in a... More

We arrived to Budapest very late, but hungry. Our hotel was next door so we decided to try this place! With a very extensive menu we opted for pizza. Wonderful pizzas, very fresh and filling. Good value for money about £8-13 for a pizza (depending on your tipping choice). We had some chips also and a glass of wine and... More

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
