This is located in a lovely side street in the theatre district. We were here for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was filled with locals, and it was obvious that many were regulars. The food was very good; typical Hungarian fare of good quality....More

We were here a couple of times for dinner. The duck breast and the schnitzel were both very good. My friend had a very tasty chicken dish with paprika which was good but could have been served hotter. The house red wine was excellent and...More

A great traditional style restaurant, the staff and the pianist created a lovely warm atmosphere. The food was truly delicious and filling. It was our favourite meal during our 4 day stay in Budapest.

Located in a gorgeous little street, home to a couple of theatres, this cafe is a good spot for an afternoon beer or two to break up a day of walking. Good for a stopover if you're walking up and down the Andrassy as well.

Opposite the Budapest Operetta on Nagymezö utca. I enjoyed a late lunch of delicious schnitzel here with mayonnaise potatoes, accompanied by a korsó of draught Krombacher beer. Service fine. The interior is comfortable if a bit nondescript.

Stopped by on a late evening stroll for a glass of Hungarian champagne. Enjoyed listening to the piano player who seemed to enjoy playing for the few guests in the restaurant at that time

Although they appear to be vegetarian friendly, they have no vegan dishes whatsoever. You may ask for completely tasteless grilled veggies with no spices whatsoever, made mostly of onions and half-cooked paprika. Salads are soaked in dressing with hardly any lettuce, etc in them. Waiters...More

The food was just great! Very tasty! The only problem was the water, there was available small bottle of water (250cl) only. But the meat and omelette was just great.

Description
Family owned traditional café-restaurant in Budapest's theater district. The elegant decoration takes you back to the 1920'-30' Budapest and Paris. Although being a café the menu is quite large. We provide you high quality food from breakfast to late dinner. Taste our Hungarian dishes (the goulash is excellent) or try one of the owners' recipe (matze-ball soup, fried goose legs or the Jewish style eggs). We are open from 8 a.m. to midnight with live music from 7 p.m. When the weather is nice you can sit outside and feel like a real Budapester.
