Oh my GOD!!!! If hell had a restaurant this would be there.... or would it? What an absolute hole. Beer served in broken glasses, mini trifle bowls for wine glasses. Only noticed the mouse plop on the side after we had ordered food. Toilet was like a scene from train spotting. Visit at your own peril!!!!

Instant soup. Ordered spagetti, had lemon peel inside. Awful taste, with ketchup... For this price it should be only a joke...

We went in for a cup of coffee, but enjoyed the intimate atmosphere and quantly, rather dated decor. Then ordered a hamburger and a chestnut and cream dessert. The jacket and tie-clad owner of 30 years prepared it all himself and enjoyed a relaxed chat with us. Filling and cheap.

We had tourist lunch menu - delicious goulash soup and wiener schnitzel. This restaurant has nothing common with italian food - their middle europe style pizza is only for the brave ones, but their hungarian food was great. The prices are suprisingly low for that part of the city.

We were wandering hungry in windy evening in the outskirts of Budapest Castle Hill looking for some place with real hungarian cuisine and reasonable prices. And boom - here it comes! Despite somehow disappointing look, we had a wonderful meal and interesting chat with owner. We had gulyásleves and bableves - two wonderful traditional soups, and a small glas of... More

I have visited this restaurant several times and I had good experience as the food is tasty Hungarian with budget prices. Do not let yourself be fooled by the name of the restaurant, it has nothing to do with Italian cuisine, but try instead the good Goulash soup, and yes it is soup not a stew that you would get... Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
