We chose this cage for our lunch out of a tourist guide so we were plot sure what to expect (tourist guides tend to include mediocre restaurants in my opinion). The truth that there were a lot of tourists in there and our waiter did appear to be a little bored however he was quite fast with our order. Th... More

We were pleasantly surprised by this cafe and bistro in the castle district. The food was cooked to perfection - we had chef's special: bone marrow and beef cheeks. Restaurant also conveniently located. Definitely recommend.

I'm always wary of places which are situated bang on top of key tourist attractions, as they usually overcharge for sloppily turned out food. The Cafè Miro actually surprised me in a positive way, both for the food and for the service which was friendly, bucking the rather disturbing trend in Budapest, for rude and surly service staff. I had... More

I had very bad experience in this cafe!! The worst soup i have ever had in my life! The waiter wasnt nice either! The soup was horrible, the bread was very old and stinky! I only paid for it because i had to! Dont recommend this place at all!!

We stopped by after strolling in the Ráday utca (which is a street full of restaurants and cafés). We had a decent meal, but quite forgettable, nothing special. The place is pleasant, but the food and the service is quite average.

Midway from Buda castle to the shopping centers there's a very stilish cafe. Came there with my partner, who has a thing for trying new soups. Once we were seated (and it was a very busy Sunday) we had enough time to have a nice discussion about Miro the artist, after whom the place is called and stiled. Waiter was... More

We popped in here during a walk about tour and I was fascinated with the colour, the furniture (the chairs wore shoes!) so much so I can hardly remember what we had to eat and drink. It was all good though

We arrived for lunch after a long morning of sightseeing. The waiter barely looked at us, gave the impression that we were interrupting his otherwise busy day (the restaurant wasn't terribly busy by then, by the way), got irritated when we asked if we could change the size of a drink, although we did it 1 minute after we had... Having been to Budapest before I saw the bread soup bowls and they looked so delicious I was on a mission to go back and try. They had cheese soup or onion soup.....both were fab. All the other food looked spectacular and I highly recommend this treat.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
