Convenient to our hotel and was a welcoming café which served traditional Hungarian food. The goulash soup was lovely!

We ordered two coffees that were bellow averege and price is too high for the quality. However, that is not the biggest issue for me. The problem is that we waited for our two coffees for more than a half an hour and after 20 minutes of waiting the waiter brought the wrong order. Skip this place if you can... More

Dropped into this cafe for some much needed drinks after walking around Budapest. The cafe itself was very quirky - some interestingly designed tables and a rather confused layout. The service was initially fine but we gave up waiting for anyone to return once we'd received our drinks so had to physically go and flag someone down before we left.... More

Went here for a quick lunch. Liked the layout which was very funky. Service very slow even though there was almost no people in the Cafe. Ordered duck risotto which was well presented. Very disappointed with taste. Risotto undercooked and duck chunks on top over cooked and rubbery. Didn't expect too much being in a tourist area but still very... More

It is a big cafe/ restaurant. I loved the view from the cafe most of all. We only had coffee but it had a really big variety of coffees. Cheap. Friendly and full of people.

We popped in because we were cold and hungry and were very pleasantly surprised! Very pleasant staff and really, really good food. I had the duck risotto and the duck was incredibly delicious! My partner had the goulash and thoroughly enjoyed it. We're only here for 4 days but I'm tempted to return for another meal!

We chose this cage for our lunch out of a tourist guide so we were plot sure what to expect (tourist guides tend to include mediocre restaurants in my opinion). The truth that there were a lot of tourists in there and our waiter did appear to be a little bored however he was quite fast with our order. Th... More

We were pleasantly surprised by this cafe and bistro in the castle district. The food was cooked to perfection - we had chef's special: bone marrow and beef cheeks. Restaurant also conveniently located. Definitely recommend.

I'm always wary of places which are situated bang on top of key tourist attractions, as they usually overcharge for sloppily turned out food. The Cafè Miro actually surprised me in a positive way, both for the food and for the service which was friendly, bucking the rather disturbing trend in Budapest, for rude and surly service staff. I had... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
