Revisited this eatery on this rainy afternoon. I had some duck confit with sides ( mediocre), my companion goulash and stuffed mushrooms with goat cheese ( excellent) washed down with some generic house wine ( mediocre) Overpriced for what it was

Our family came to this restaurant for lunch during our visit to Budapest. Our family ordered the beef stew, goulash soup and the sausage soup. All meals were good but the sausage soup is particularly tasty. I wish I could go back and order it...again!More
Traditional food in reasonable price. There are plenty of choices for every taste. Highly recommend to visit the place if you are located in Budapest.
Great atmosphere, fabulous local and regional specials. Excellent house red wine. Friendly and helpful staff. Small restaurant so unless you have a reservation make sure you go early. Tried the hortobagi pancakes - yum, goulash type stew - gorgeous and spicy stuffed pork chop. Excellent...all round. Second visit, won’t be the last.More
Walked past late afternoon on the tail end of service. Was given a table by door and food followed soon after. Ordered Hortobagyi blintz with cream chicken and beef porkolt with gnocchi. Both average. Massive jug of light draft beer. The crowning glory was the...cranberry cheese pancake with coffee. Service prompt due to our late arrival.More
Delicious food, rustic place, the waitress took her time to explain us what each dish contained and what was traditional or popular. The food arrived quick although it was quiet busy and last the price…super cheap! A real must !!
I visited with a friend. We got a table in the corner at the window. Service was nice and quick, food amazing, variety really wide. I especially liked the there is plenty of space between tables, which is rare even in covid times.
Reservations are required. We were turned away on the first try which is understandable. The food was very dry. We had a platter between the two of us. It was plentiful, perhaps too many fries. But the meat (Liver, pork) was dry and overcooked if...anything. The staff were just there, not really attentive to our needs. We had one drink and weren’t offered another. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very ambient. Don’t go out of your way to eat there. It really isn’t worth any special trip.More
This lovely little restaurant had a great menu, but I decided to stick with what the locals were eating. I had Hungarian Goulash and homemade spaetzle. I had ordered the soup first because I was hungry, but I really didn't need it. So delicious! It...was a lot of food, but I ate it all. Dessert was a typical Hungarian pancake with vanilla sauce on it. I also ordered a latte with dessert. They even had decaf! Excellent service with a great price.More
Genuine hungarian restaurant with good food, very good sized portions, good prices and good portions.
