Yes, the building is beautiful. Yes, the cakes are good. But the service is not so good, it very overpriced and there are too many tourists here. Check out Daubner for a more local and very good coffee house experience

We choose the fine dining section after having booked a table in the cafe. The menucard as well as the atmosphere is distinctly different in the fine dining. The menucard is very classical: international favourites with an Hungarian touch. All five of us had three courses from the a la carte menu. The manjalica pork received high marks, as well... More

I visited this cafe out of curiosity as I had read in various guide books about the decor and the service. I was not disappointed. We were led to our table straight away and we're seated downstairs. I would have preferred to seat upstairs, however as it was our last day in Budapest, I was grateful that we got a... More

Had a great dining experience thanks to Blint Gordo his very attentive and builds rapport to his customers. I had a lovely time in here at it's worth more than just the tons of pictures I took inside the cafe.

We stayed at the Boscolo, so we figured we had to have desert at NY Cafe one night. We shared the desert trio. It was $14 for three small deserts which is expensive by Budapest standards. The deserts were mediocre at best. I don't think NY Cafe lives up to the hype. Just go in and take pictures instead of... More

The Cafe is breathtaking. We would lucky to arrive when the live music began. Try to get a table up front not in the back. A wonderful place for an afternoon break, relaxing enjoying the wine and sweets.

Had coffee andcake there. Very nice, however have to say the coffee was a bit cool. The Chamber orchestra was a delight and the venue beautiful.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
