Enter from the street walk through to the back courtyard to sit beneath the Roman wall! This area is also a walkway to the central square. The soups and mains were excellent and the service exquisite. Head waiter spoke very good English and was very accommodating and professional. The price was fantastic for quality, we went twice while in town!

We went to dinner and ate cordon bleu and sweet chili chicken. Both were extraordinary. If you are there also try the passionfruit lemonade.

I had a great meal here...the pork cutlets from pork knuckle with cheese inside. This also included vegetables and hand cut fries. A big meal. It was the most l spent on a meal in Hungary, but it was not too much (2400 huf). There are two gardens and they had some nice live music. The staff was very kind!... More

The restaurant is a little difficult to find but worth look for. There is no street view but you can sit in one of the two small gardens (there is also possible to sit indoors in the basement) It is a calm place and ideal if you want to enjoy the company of friends and family. The service is good,... More

You need to go into the alley and then downstairs to the cellar. It's a cozy place, but the music was badly chosen. We ordered balinka, red wine, garlic soup (bread used as a bowl), another soup that I can't remember and then goose plate for two. There wasn't anything particularly bad or exceptionally good. All dishes were tasty, meat... More

Tucked away in an alley in the old town with a beautiful outdoor terrace, Graben Etterem is a good stopping point for lunch or dinner in Sopron. Traditional Hungarian and central European dishes, beer and wine, and desserts are all offered with excellent service. A definite recommendation for old town, Sopron.

We stumbled upon this place when we walking around Sopron and we're glad that we did! The food was very tasty and fresh. It was very pleasant sitting outside in the sun under a large umbrella! We also could not get over how reasonable the prices were (well compared to Vienna where we have been staying)! We had two entrees,... More

We ate indoors and immediately noticed an unpleasant, mouldy smell that stayed for the entire visit. Unclear if it came from the cellar itself or wet clothes but was certainly dominating. As to the food, I know Hungarian food well as my parents are Hungarians. What we received was very greasy meat and too soft and tasteless tarhonya - it... More

Excellent hungarian cuisine, very extensive menu, super service.
We saw Austrians who had obviously driven over the border to eat lunch there.

My partner had the ganseleber (foie gras) which is often over-cooked in Hungary. In this case it was perfect -- "melt in your mouth" perfect -- just cooked on the outside, soft and liquid on the inside. Heavenly!

I had the roast goose leg, crispy skin and yet moist on the inside. This dish is very easy to over-cook i.e. the meat ends up dry. But once again this was really delicious.

BIG PLUS: for the quality, the prices were very decent. It was very near the centrum (old city) so you might expect higher prices. But no we were pleasantly surprised! What an unexpected treat on the long drive to Budapest.
