Dietrich's Cafe has an impressive history. Take up a 20th at the beginning of the century. Cafe Dietrich belonged to the family and cafes considered Haapsalu Mond Baker Paul Dietrich. Food was amazing! Definetely worth going and prices were decent. For starters we had grilled shrimps/prawns which were amazing! Tartar was also great. Main courses Estonian meat and schnizel were really good and children's chicken with sweet potato fries were delicious! Kid's meals typically are quite small, but this was a perfect size for a very hungry 8 year old. For deserts you definetely have to try the house cakes, they are to die for!! They are very rich in flavor and absolutely delicious!!

Had a spontaneous and quick lunch on a quiet Thursday .
Plat du jour was fish patties with roasted potatoes and remoulad sauce . A well balanced dish served promptly with a smile .
Will definitely recommend this place :)

The interior is very stylish. The food is ABSOLUTELY amazing, but it is more of a restaurant so they have restaurant prices. I still just had casual lunch there but it’s also fitting for celebrating birthdays for example. They daily have freshly caught fish that I really liked. Though if you are looking for something cheaper but still delicious then I recommend Taksi Pubi.

Oh my goodness, could this place be any more perfect? I tried to book a table for an early dinner on the day but the wait staff explained there was a big group coming in and they simply didn’t have the capacity but encouraged me to return when we were ready to eat & they’d do their best to find a table. I was disappointed BUT the offer was very genuine so we returned @ our preferred time & sure enough a table push here & a wiggle there & we were in.
We shared the sizzling prawns, my husband had the fish of the day - Baltic Herring caught as locally as you can and I had the duck confit. Both beautifully cooked, perfectly seasoned and well presented. We drank sparkling, cider and wine to match by the glass. Our waiter was the perfect combination of friendly/welcoming, professional and just a very interesting & delightful young person who also made us laugh. Karoline provided us with great local info but also left us to enjoy our meal - it was an anniversary dinner.
Then came dessert & of course @ Hapsal Dietrich it’s all about the cakes. We shared @ piece of the strawberry sponge gateaux with the BEST decaf coffee I’ve ever had (& we’re Melbourne coffee snobs) and grabbed a piece cherry chocolate cake ‘for the road’. In case you hadn’t guessed, I highly recommend this place, hope I get to come back some day & hope you have an equally lovely experience.

Incredible food and lovely service in this cute and charming spot.
Right next to the castle walls, you will first be wow'd by their desserts...they take centre stage when you walk in.
The food was exceptional!
I had the wild boar and mash and my husband the peanut chicken. We split the cheese plate with home made crackers and then had a piece of their banoffee cheesecake. Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully presented.

Oh my god.
This place was amazing.
Service 10/10 and food was really delicious.
We got to the city by sailing, and landed to the city centrum really late on the evening. Accually the only terrace where was somebody still eating, we asked for kitchen hours.
Friendy staff member invited us to the table, even the kitchen was closing after 20minutes.
Lady give as a brilliant proposal what to eat, so we ordered gin&tonics, starters and main courses and bottle of wine.
Food was amazing, and service was tip top.
After the main course we moved inside the restaurant to have irish coffees for dessert.
Restaurant was closing but girls let us stay inside and enjoy our great dinner with friends.
Thank you again for absolutely great experience🙏🏽

The end of April was prehaps to early to visit Haapsalu the cathredral and musuem were closed and it was cold and windy but there was a very warm welcome in this small cosy resturant, which soon filled up at around midday. A charming young lady spoke English and told us there was a lunch special which we had (along with the local brew). I can strongly recommend this resturant along with the locals that filled the place.

Dietrich delivers fresh, tasty and versatile food with something extra. The milieu is very pleasant, the music is not too loud and the terrace by the street creates a cozy extension to the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and professional. Best place in town, if you ask me!

This is perfect restaurant for it's location and view around, located just beside the main attraction of Haapsalu castle. Very good for couples, who want to be relaxed after the prominade walking. We are had fish and schnitzel. Very good

Excellent food and attentive friendly service. The menu is relatively small, which for me is always a good sign. I just wanted a simple dish so chose the pork schnitzel with german potatoes. It was crispy and cooked to perfection and served with a nice sauce and lingonberry jam; a great combination. My wife had the excellent fried herring. Washed down with a local craft beer and followed by really nice cake. This is not cheap but it’s not ridiculous and is a great little restaurant.

Our 9 y.o. said she'd rate it 6/5 if she could. It's not for the cakes though - although those were spectacular as well. She enjoyed all the seafood more than anything.
Amazing! We tried 2 of the seafood starters and 3 of the main dishes (schnitzel, loval fish, and the mussels), all of which were spectacular. The wine recommendation was excellent and the Pavlova and cakes rocked our socks off.
Plus, they have books and crayons for the kids to keep busy while the parents are enjoying the gastronomy.
Interior was beautiful, outside tables looked cozy although we sat inside, and the staff were excellent.
Improvement feedback from the 9y.o.: she'd have preferred to have some soft sofas.

Absolutely loved everything - the food, the service. The octopus salad was super good, coffee was great and kids loved their meals also. We also tried some of the cakes and they were also truly tasty. Thank you!

Went for a dinner with friends.
Always reserve if you are sure you wish to eat there :)
The steak was good but I have to say that the 5 stars are for the amazing cakes!
After the summer terrace is closed there is very limited space and the place was packed (not a place to go to if trying to keep 2m distance).
The service was nice and friendly.
If you see the last cake slice, do not wait - buy it first!

Visited this place with my partner for 2 days in a row. Cosy little place with nice interior and friendly service. The lunch on the 1st day was quite good. On the second day we had coffee with cake. The cakes we ordered were the best I have ever tasted (and huge slices). I had pistachio cheesecake, my partner had banana cake with caramel.

We had a dinner and some cakes here with the family. Food was the best that we ate on our trip in Estonia, sevice was ok in Estonian level and cakes are to die for. A bit pricy compared to other restaurants in the area, but also worth it. The venue itself if beautiful too.
