La Prima Vanalinn enjoys a reputation for its sumptuous pizzas and affable service, making it a hit among many diners. However, some patrons suggest that the dinner options are somewhat costly with a limited range to choose from. While the authentic and snug Italian ambiance is widely acclaimed, a few guests note that the music volume could be dialed down. Despite the warm hospitality, the pricing structure, particularly for evening pizzas, perplexes some visitors, and booking ahead is advisable due to high demand.

As a local I am quite picky when it comes to my pizza taste, having been disappointed a lot by promises of authentic tastes. La Prima Pizza does not disappoint, I tried the Primavera pizza, which was delicious and had a freshly made negroni to the side. Chips and water were brought to the table without me asking and the service was overall great. Melodic music creates a great atmosphere, I especially recommend booking groups to sit in the tree-roundtable, seems to be a great spot to celebrate birthdays for example. Overall, I now know where to order my pizzas from if I am craving a taste of Italy and where to come if I want to be feel valued as a customer.

Excellent, just excellent! We got a very warm welcome from the staff and they seated us to the best table under (and around) the old lemon tree. The waiter was so professional, double checking the orders and making sure everyone got what they wanted. Food was great! And in the end they even let us water the tree - an experience the kids will remember forever! If you want to have the tree table it’s probably possible to book it specially (seats max 8 persons I think). Highly recommended!

It seems like it should be a tourist trap, but it is actually astonishingly good and authentic. The pizza is really good, Italian crust, not soggy, great ingredients, very fresh. However, salads and pasta have been a very good experience here too. You are welcomed with a little complimentary prosecco, but even a decent bottle of wine will not bankrupt you. The staff is friendly and even on occasion refreshingly friendly. Definitely a must visit, when you visit Tallinn old town. We are frequent guests and totally recommend a visit.

Pizza there is below avarage while they charge more than best pizza places in town (f.e Kaja Pizza in Kopli or Pizzastuudio in Tabasalu). I recommend you to avoid this place like plague. You will get scammed by way to high prices while eating stale and tasteless pizza. Service there is also utter garbage. I asked for tap water and I ended up paying 4 euros for that.. 4 goddamn euros. While "servant" didn't say beforehand that they don't serve tap water and that you actually have to pay for that. Scqm in a nutshell. If u ever happen to see this place then run.. run somewhere else.. anywhere else

We did visit the restaurant with our friends. Atmosphere: Nice interior and friendly staff will welcome you as soon as you enter into the restaurant. Service: After showing you a nice table you will be asked for the drinks and menus for the food will be handed to you immediately. You will not be left alone during you stay. Food: They know how to make a real pizza! I visited in Italy so there is a ground for the comparison. Starters are made from fresh local ingredients and you can taste it! Drinks: Excellent beer and house wine. At the end comes a surprise. Home made Lemoncello on the house.

Have been to this place twice. It is hipster style restaurant with the classical Italian Music where service is quite elegant. Its kitchen is open so basically you can see how they prepare the food, quite clean and hygienic I would say. It was kind of a show watching South Asian guy making the Pizza dough fly in the air.

I was there with other Italian friends and we really liked it. The restaurant is very elegant and quiet. The menu has a big variety of choices, ranging from pasta to meat and pizza of course. As soon as we got there we were offered some focaccia which tasted exactly like the one I eat back home. Our pizzas were very good, I would say it looks a lot like the pizza you eat in Rome, which is thinner than the Neapolitan one. We also got some desserts and I have to say that the tiramisù was pretty good. In the end, they also offered us some Italian limoncelllo, a great touch! All their ingredients come from Italy and you can really taste it. If I had to make a suggestion I would probably tell them to try to also have some more "classic" pizzas because many of them are very peculiar. This being said, they were more than willing to change the ingredients and toppings on our pizzas!

We visited the Old Town location with family for a few pizzas and some drinks. The pizza was wonderful - great selection of toppings, the thin crust was just perfect. We had La Prima, Delicioza and 'Nduja pizzas - the last one was very interesting and we would recommend that to anyone who prefers spicier food. The service was great, our waiter Leon was very attentive, gave good recommendations regarding the food and drinks and struck up great conversation. We will definitely keep coming for the amazing food and service!

we went here for dinner and ordered pizza. Authentic Italian pizza's which are finger licking pizza's and that is exactly what we got. This place is fabulous for groups and for couple as well. The pizza was perfectly well cooked and on our table in a matter of minutes when we ordered. I highly recommended to my friend must try once. We must visit again when ever we visit Estonia.

First time there and we will go again tomorrow. The service was great and offered us a flexi le solution on pur needs - table, special pizza wishes etc. All done as requested. The food was awesome. Carpaccio di Manzo well decorated, pasta perfectly cooked and pizza was also delicious. I had Tiramisu for desert - was also very good but could be a bit more. Overall great place. We come again!

It sure feels like La Prima Pizza would boast the tastiest pizza in Old Town Tallinn, or perhaps the city as a whole. I don’t even need to patron other eateries to come to this conclusion. My meal was absolutely amazing. After stretching my legs to their limit from walking the historic streets up hills and stairs and down narrow brick alleys, I needed a break and a pizza that would replenish my energy. And La Prima delivered. I recommend anything on the menu, because it all sounds so good. Being a lame, picky eater, I chose plain cheese pizza, but it was made with incredibly fresh, quality ingredients. I devoured it quickly and delightfully. Just note that, despite a few gelato advertisements on the menus, the restaurant currently doesn’t serve it. They have a nice selection of other desserts, but if expecting gelato (like me), prepared to look for an alternate dessert place after eating here. No biggie, though! My server was a friendly, attentive man who exhibited Estonian hospitality to the fullest. After dealing with a number of poor customer service moments with Estonian folks in other places, the service at La Prima was a breath of fresh air. If I was given the opportunity to tip like you do in the USA, I would’ve tipped my waiter generously. Kudos to him! So next time you’re in Old Town Tallinn, you have to prioritize a dining experience at this restaurant. Please take my word for it. With a prime location, yummy food, and excellent service, La Prima Pizza is among the best in the city!

It is a very nice place that makes you feel like you’re in Italy, not in Estonia. The atmosphere is spectacular and they even have a live artist. The food they serve is amazing - I have tried 4 pizzas and have enjoyed every last bite of them. The place is small enough to be cozy but still feel like you are welcome there. The waitress Siiri was especially nice - she was very attentive and gladly shared knowledge about the restaurant, it’s owners and dishes. Have been in the restaurant 4 times and will definitely come again in the future.

We visited on NYE and had a really enjoyable night. Our waiter was great, extremely friendly and personable. The food was lovely and the chef coming out to speak to every table was a lovely touch. The live music was great. The reason I have marked it down though is down to their sneaky sommelier. Firstly he folded the wine menu back when presenting it to my brother, which in our opinion was to hide the prices (we didn't pick up on it at the time). We started with some Italian Prosecco for the table and then wanted a red wine, we were recommended a magnum and after enquiring after the price (106 euros) we went with it. My sister in law wanted a white so explained she liked a dry white wine, the sommelier then recommended one, not knowing the wine she said it would be fine. At the end of the meal by husband asked for 3 large brandies. The shock came when we got the bill.... The cheap tasting prosecco was 132 euros, the white wine was 156 euros and the brandies were 173 euros!! 173 euros for 3 large brandies!! The issue that I take with the restaurant is that we were paying on average 40 euros for a 3 course meal, If you look at their online drinks menu there isn't a bottle on there over 45 euros. I can also see that they have 3 brandy choices, one at 7 euros, one at 8 euros, and the other at 16 euros. So when my husband asked for 3 large brandies, the sommelier took it upon himself to serve us the most expensive and did them as triples! I completely understand upselling, but there is no way he should have been selecting the most expensive drinks on the menu without checking the price was ok. So for 4 adults and 2 children our bill came to just under 750 euros. Considering we were eating pasta and tuna pizza's that's just crazy!! I did email the manager when we got home with this feedback, not asking for anything, just stating that I felt we had been taken advantage of. Despite half on my email talking about the positives of the night my email has been completely ignored. It makes me think that because we were from overseas we were seen as easy targets. Such as shame! I have never in my life written a review on a restaurant but felt this was warranted.

We visited this restaurant just because of Tripadvisorś's comments and after a bad lunch Sushi experience in another restaurant.... The service is the best part of this restaurant! They welcomed us even the restaurant was totally full but we got table for 1.5hours. Thank you for that! The food. Since I am glutein free they did not have that many options to choose from so I did take the mozzarella salad (15euros) + added some slices of prosciutto (+5euros) and must say that not the best quality salad I have had, but the great service covered that one. My husband had the tonna salad wich was better and he loved. Teenager had kids pasta and loved too. When we entered they gave us glassed of processo and I actually loved their processo and you can buy bottle to home as well for fairly nice price 8euros. The pizzas looked nice too and main meals but we where not so hungry. But this would be a perfect restaurant if they would have gluten free pasta selection (risotto was only served for 2 people so I could not eat that one either since my husband doesn't like risotto) but might visit again and thank you for the great service and atmosphere!

After having eaten at a restaurant (Troika) in the old town, which was a disaster, we went to this Italian restaurant and it made our 3 day trip to Tallinn. We were offered prosecco on the house when we arrived. To this we ordered olives, which turned out to be 3 various sorts of olives, very tasty. We had tonato vitello and carpaccio on beef as starters. Both excellent. Then one spicy pizza Vulcano and one with shrimps. Both had thin crust with a very rich tomato sauce. To this one bottle of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo with god tannins. For dessert tiramisu with a glass of Vino Santo. Finally espresso and Mexican Rhum. Complimenti!
