Hearty and glorious food. A truly lovely place for delicious Latvian food. The garlic rye bread is sublime and the dumplings even better. Truly amazing desserts, cold beers and a warm welcome, what more could one want?

Traditional Latvian Food but mass produced - self service canteen like. Cheaper than other restaurants and cafes that we visited - just felt a bit disappointed overall
Four of us ate here, two shared the pork knuckle which was enormous, the others had salmon and chicken. All excellent as was the garlic rye bread starter. Service good, price fair. My favourite meal in Riga
Very good local food. It is nice but quit small place. Service was quick and friendly. We ate lunch. Pretty small restroom.
After being recommended to come here for the pea soup we did. Both is us did not enjoy the soup. The waiter seemed like we caused an inconvenience by being there. When asked to pay she pressured us into paying by cash when we wanted...to use card. A gentleman who doesn’t speak good English came in requesting a table. Despite there being many seats available she said ‘no we are full’ in a tone that was extremely unfriendly. We walked away with a sour taste in our mouth not only pea soup.More
This restaurant charges 2€ for tap water. It is probably legal in Latvia, but not very ethical. Food is mediocre and expensive. 16€ for a so-called beef strogonoff that consisted of a few fat pieces of beef and the rest of mashed potatoes. When I...asked for the check, I was reminded that service was not included. Better stay away from this place.More
Friendly restaurant right in the heart of the old town. The atmospheric restaurant offers Latvian food and it tastes really good. Strong recommendation for visitors to Riga
Our small tour group were taken here by our tour leader on our first night in Riga. It has an atmospheric interior and serves Latvian cuisine. The food was decent - my husband really enjoyed his beef stroganoff with mashed potato, whilst my potato pancakes...with smoked salmon and sour cream were good but nothing special. For dessert my husband had plum cake, which he loved, whilst I had the rye bread dessert with whipped cream and chokeberry - very odd to be honest. Service was polite if not especially friendly and everyone’s food arrived in good time.More
We sat inside (they have outside tables too) and enjoyed a delicious meal with great service. I had a very generously sized salmon fillet with tasty baked potatoes (which I think had been lightly fried, definitely enhances the taste). As in many (but not all)...places in Riga, allergen information is marked on the menu which made it easy to work out the gluten-free options. Staff were friendly & efficient and the decor is rustic and cosy.More
This really is tourist central, but they do it very well. I wanted to try some Latvian food and they give you a wide choice. I started with an appetiser based on smoked sprats and followed with a pork (little) and vegetable (lots) casserole served...in a pot with some melted cheese on top. Both were enjoyable. I arrived just after eight, and got the last table outside. The staff were pleasant.More
A week in Riga and we thought there were no bad eateries in the town . But Province is bad, poor food and high prices. It's just a tourist trap, flashy and with a prominent position, there are dozens of better venues nearby.
Very good Latvian food 🙂 they have indor tables but also outside sitting space. I can recommend it for tourists who want to eat good quality food for reasonable prices.
Bad costumer service!!! We were there to make a reservation and they told us we didn’t need. One hour later no place to eat…
2 hours before the closing time in Tripadvisor kitchen is not serving dishes, it was on Saturday, so many people are still in the area of the old city
We made the reservation for 2 persons at 8 pm… we arrived at 8 but no tables available… we were asked to wait for 10 minutes… we came back after 10 minutes but still there were no tables available. The waitress said almost nothing but...no good explanation for not making the reservations in the beginning… Very disappointing way to handle this situation and never come back.More
