For East Asians: Recommended sushi bowl and seafoof. Ramen, dumplings, and mille-layer cake - NO

I have been here twice, I always love Japanese food, and Japanese food is exactly what keeps my appetite alive when the majority of the Chinese food here is greasy or overly sweet or salty. I had pan-fried dumplings and ramen on the first day. The menu's pictures make it appear as though they are delicately preparing authentic Japanese cuisine. The dumplings were a complete disaster; they were supposed to be crispy, it appears that the chef used frozen dumplings and heated them briefly in a microwave before serving them to me. The skin of the dumplings is too soft as pan-fried dumplings, and they were greasy and sticky. I actually had the urge to dash into the kitchen and instruct them on how to make dumplings. Everything about the Japanese ramen was good, but the soup was too salty. I understand that the locals enjoy their food salty. I, therefore, placed orders for tempura prawns, a sushi bowl, and a matcha cake for the second day. They taste very fresh and the rice is the right kind. The cake is the only drawback. The cake is a mille-layer cake in the Asian style, so why are the layers on it so thick and hard? I would like to suggest that since you are likely using French pancakes to make Asian food, you should instead use them to make dumplings.

Nothing special, but everything was okay. I had a Miso soup and a mixed plate of Nigiri Sushi to start. The rice was a bit too dry and the fish pieces did not stick well to it. The Japanese noodle soup afterwards was filling. The service was promptly, however that may habe been due to the fact that I was early and the place filled up when I was done.

Very nice restaurant

Yes, the service is slow, but it's worth the wait. We had chicken gyoza, which were very nicely cooked, and the Vietnamese Pho was delicious. The merlot wine was also very decent and the price reasonable. The restaurant is very conveniently situated in the Art Nouveau district.

Very bad service on Elizabetes street. Waiters forget and mix up orders. The quality of the food is not the best, for such relatively high prices. The size of the sushi is tiny. We do not recommend this place. We are disappointed.

Never believe the promised delivery time

When ordering food delivery, never believe the promised delivery time e.g. 40-50 min. Ordering on a weekday around 4 p.m. The actual delivery took place after 124 min! Think hard before choosing this particular restaurant. There are many others in Riga where the attitude towards the customer is as it should be.

People attending the restaurant are not welcomed

Very tasty sushi, but absolutely terrible service. They prefer to serve delivery orders first, not the people who have made an effort to actually come to the restaurant… If you do run a high numbers of orders, there’s no harm to warn your customers that there may be a longer waiting time. But no. Instead, my questions were met with annoyance. It’s my local I live nearby, and I am very, very disappointed that on thy Sunday night with my niece after the cinema - it’s our tradition to go to Yakuza after a good movie, left such a bad aftertaste. Even the 25% discount on a bill could not save it.

Order dinner at Yakuza Sushi & Asian Fusion Elizabetes 10, Riga

We placed an order at a restaurant through the Bolt delivery network. Waiting time 60 min. After 90 minutes they didn’t even inform me that the order was delayed. We called to find out what was wrong with our order. The answer is that they haven’t started placing orders yet. Do not go to this restaurant and do not order ANYTHING there!!!

Good place for sushi, bowls & more…

What a beautiful meal. Started with CHIRASHI, main course SIZZLING BOWL, finished with MATCHA CREPE CAKE & Espresso. All meals were delicious, fresh and just perfect. The Espresso was ok. (It came from an automatic coffee machine instead of an espresso machine.) Anyhow I enjoyed my meal at a nice place good background music (deep house chill) and friendly people around. Thank you.

Very nice!

This is a great place for some Japanese food. We shared gyoza, seaweed salad, sushi and coconut & ginger chicken/ prawn noodles. It was all delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented. The staff were lovely and very attentive. Diana and her colleagues were great. Thank you for a lovely, tasty lunch. It was reasonably priced too considering it's location. Also located very close to Alberta Iela for all the beautiful art nouveau buildings so a great location.

Sushi was quite good although I did not expect that much.

YAKUZA means Japanese mafia so was a bit sceptical....but I was very tired to go to restaurant in old town, so I decided to try. This place was near my hotel. I ordered tuna sushi, and it was quite good actually. Place was casual and easy to go. It was a little bit different from traditional Japanese sushi, but it was good, they used a bit chilli in food.

Great sushi and great price!

We visited today for a late lunch, it’s in a really cool area of Riga near the art district! They have a really good menu with lots of options for meat, fish and veggie/ vegan eaters. They mark everything very clearly on the menu as well which is helpful! The food is tasty, you get good portions and it’s very affordable. Would recommend :)
