This is a great place for some Japanese food. We shared gyoza, seaweed salad, sushi and coconut & ginger chicken/ prawn noodles. It was all delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented. I have been here twice, I always love Japanese food, and Japanese food is exactly what keeps my appetite alive when the majority of the Chinese food here is greasy or overly sweet or salty. I had pan-fried dumplings and ramen on the first day....The menu's pictures make it appear as though they are delicately preparing authentic Japanese cuisine. The dumplings were a complete disaster; they were supposed to be crispy, it appears that the chef used frozen dumplings and heated them briefly in a microwave before serving them to me. The skin of the dumplings is too soft as pan-fried dumplings, and they were greasy and sticky. I actually had the urge to dash into the kitchen and instruct them on how to make dumplings. Everything about the Japanese ramen was good, but the soup was too salty. I understand that the locals enjoy their food salty. I, therefore, placed orders for tempura prawns, a sushi bowl, and a matcha cake for the second day. They taste very fresh and the rice is the right kind. The cake is the only drawback. The cake is a mille-layer cake in the Asian style, so why are the layers on it so thick and hard? I would like to suggest that since you are likely using French pancakes to make Asian food, you should instead use them to make dumplings.More

Very bad service on Elizabetes street. Waiters forget and mix up orders. The quality of the food is not the best, for such relatively high prices. The size of the sushi is tiny. We do not recommend this place. We are disappointed.

YAKUZA means Japanese mafia so was a bit sceptical....but I was very tired to go to restaurant in old town, so I decided to try. This place was near my hotel. I ordered tuna sushi, and it was quite good actually. Place was casual and...easy to go. We visited today for a late lunch, it’s in a really cool area of Riga near the art district! They have a really good menu with lots of options for meat, fish and veggie/ vegan eaters. Sorely disappointed with the quality of the sushi and ramen. Apart from too many sushi roll items with cream cheese , what I did order was bland and lacked any balance of flavours. The chicken ramen noodles were tasteless and far too spicy (I requested...a little hot). The service was, along with the food bland. Surely the minimum a wait staff should know in a Japanese style restaurant is to leave the chopstick wrapper in order to rest the chopsticks on the table.... The only redeeming factor was the duck gyoza. But that was not made on site, so there was nothing to screw-up....More

We visited on a sunday. It was a handwritten note on the door saying they closed one hour earlier than they used. We got a little hurry. It was nice to compose the meal ourself. We went for the same basis, one with oyster saus,...and one with curry and ginger. We was a little dissapointed when the food basically tasted the same. Too little spice and too much taste of smoke. The waiter was ok, but not too kind or attended. Overall ok+.More

They had a hugh menu with a lot of different kinds of sushi, ramen, gyoza and more. The sushi tasted nice, but they used a bit too much cream cheese. The cocktails were very good. The waitress was a bit too hasty though. The place...looked nice and fancy.More
