First night in Tavira and found this little gem. The owner Octavia wealth of knowledge when it comes to gastronomy. Service, attention to detail and presence is outstanding. 5 star all round

I live in Tavira and although had eaten an excellent meal here once before, pre-Covid, it then dropped off my radar. Last night while out with friends I 'rediscovered' it and am so happy that I did. It was the first gourmet meal that I'd...eaten here for a long time. The staff were welcoming and attentive and I have to mention the chairs. As someone with back problems, the chairs were an ergonomic joy. My black pork filet was delicious, beautifully cooked with rosemary and served with a light, white sauce cleverly blended with a meat reduction. My friends were equally happy with their choices of robalo with prawns in an orange sauce and a goat's cheese gratin with apple and honey. It was on the expensive side but worth it for the quality of the food.More
Really lovely little restaurant, nice roof top terrace and atmosphere. Not a vast menu but we all tried different dishes and the food was amazing. Excellent value as well
Had visited Brisa da Rio previously and enjoyed it enormously. Our return visit did not disappoint, great food and great service. The prawn curry was outstanding. The only potential issue was that they did not take any non-Portuguese cards but fortunately we had enough cash.
Have been going to this restaurant over a 10 year period. Excellent food again when we went on the 4th October, staff were friendly and attentive. Came to pay the bill and they now only take a Portuguese bank card or cash. Had to dash...across the road to an ATM so could pay the bill. There is a bigVISA sign on the door which we never noticed as we had been going for many years and always paid by card. Owner does not like the charges from card companies but we noticed a lot of people come to eat but walked away, presumably because they noticed cash only. One of the very few restaurants that do not take cards.More
This was the first time back at this restaurant since the pandemic and we had always enjoyed it previously. My husband had Mediterranean tuna and said it was very tasty but very rich; son had pork and said very tasty; my other son and I...had vegetable pasta which was OK. It was very busy and service was a little slow. We only had a main course but were seated for an hour and a half. Great location up on the rooftop - worth a visit.More
Our fist return from what used to be one of our favourite restaurants 18 months ago. Due I think originally with problems with staffing etc. Tonight was a very pleasant surprise, The food was excellent however this would have been a 5 star if it...were not the couvert. Very overpriced for what it was, a series of tiny saucers which could only hold at best 3 olives in one saucer and an olive and 3 carrots in the other. 2 saucers with lovely pate but a tiny portion, 2 saucers with an anchovy and olive. The bread was a very small serving for 5 people. If You were to go in any other restaurant you would get a decent basket of bread and good portions of carrot and olives etc…. However our mains were excellent, black pork, steak Dianne, 2 Prawn curries and a child’s steak meal. (Child’s steak meal a good portion but another tiny saucer of grated carrot). All this said you can see how the owner has a good team to back him up, he no longer is in the kitchen, he is back, front of house. Although there was space for many more tables, this was seen as being reduced for the amount of tables which were manageable for the staff. We will be back, hopefully 5 star soon…..More
We booked dinner for our family of 7 really for the wonderful entertainment from singer Zico. I would not normally leave a negative review but we were appalled at the aggressive behaviour of the owner/chef who screamed at a young waiter in front of everyone...in the restaurant. It was entirely inappropriate and really quite shocking and upsetting to see a young waiter spoken to like that, it also made our young children feel very uncomfortable. If it wasn’t for us being there to support Zico we would have left. We are frequent visitors to Tavira but will not be returning to this restaurant. I hate to think how the young waiter felt after his shift that evening.More
We came for dinner with high expectations as we’ve been before many times, drinks came for my mum and dad though mine didn’t come out we soon asked the waiter if it had gone missing and brought me out it. After we waited an hour...and 15 minutes for our mains to be served ! It was cold and I got a different meal which was fatty. As for all of ours it was cold and not very nice which in the end left us no choice but to leave fir a takeaway pizza nearby.More
We booked for 8pm but when we arrived all of their tables were occupied. We were offered a free glass of wine in the roof terrace but it was quite a chilly night so not ideal. It was 8.45 when we were told our table...was ready. We ordered our meals which were a selection from steak to fish as well as chinked stroganoff. We all agreed that the food generally lacked flavour. The pepper steak sauce was bland and the stroganoff was bland with rice that was dry and tasted as though it was left over from lunch! The service was good but overall everything took forever to arrive. It was €180!for four of us so quite expensive in Tavira terms. We all wished we had dined at Bossa or O’Tonel which are far superior for less money.More
Excellent meal Fresh food Lovely friendly staff Good wine choices Nice kid’s menu Will definitely return.
An absolutely amazing hidden gem The owners are so courteous, wines and food are fabulous. You will not regret visiting here
Dinner was outstanding as was the service. Truly delicious meal - wonderfully prepared and graciously presented. Several very creative and unique dishes including the banana and chestnut curry - which was my selection for the evening - totally yummy! One of the best restaurant meals...we’ve had over the past many years!More
The hotel we were staying in recommended this restaurant. The starters were excellent. The tuna and swordfish main courses were so good. The third main course, the sea bass, was a little lacking in texture (according to my daughter - needed some crunch !) Would...definitely recommend.More
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Tavira if not the best. You can order anything from the menu and it will be served to you in the best way possible, tasty and beautifully presented on the plate. The knowledge in wine’s are high so...you will always have a good pairing for the food. Don’t miss this treasure so book in advance because most evenings it is fully booked.More
