We used to stay at the now closed backpackers over the road from the Bakkerij, and loved their croissants and cakes.

Just love this bakery, always stop off when in Picton in our Motorhome and stock up. Their fruit turnovers are the best we have ever had, along with meat pies and baguettes. Friendly helpful staff even when very busy.

But it is the best. Meat pies are killer get your name in the system and get tenth pie free. Sausage rolls are ok. Carrot cake is really good.

With this bakery relatively hidden from the main street, I was surprised they'd sold out of their apple turnovers by 10.30am. The pies we bought (beef and onion) were delicious. It is not a "eat in" restaurant or cafe. It's just a take away but the quality and service are good.

OMG this place was the bomb! Stayed at the hostel next door and got great breakfasts and lunches from this place for $4-7. Really incredibly tasty stuff. Friendly vibe. Take out only though, basically.

Stopped here for breakfast after seeing they won the best bakery of the year in NZ a couple years ago. We got a bacon and egg roll, some pastries, carrot cake, and a loaf of bread. The bread really was delicious, but so was everything else. Good service and smells like a proper bakery!

This bakery is a very good one with a wide variety or savoury and sweet options. They make a decent cup of coffee also. Friendly helpful staff round off a good establishment.

THis little bakery (Now open on Mondays) is a great place for getting fresh sandwiches. I arrived late for our group of 4 and most all of the sandwiches and other bakery items (2pm) were sold out, but they gladly made fresh 4 sandwiches to order for us. (I had explained I was waiting for 2 people that came late... More

You can have sandwiches, pastries, juice and bread for all you need to have while you trek, kayak or just go lazy on the beach. A bit pricey but it is so so good.

We enjoyed the few pies and cakes we took with us on our boat trip, unfortunately the coffee was burnt and bitter tasting. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
