Had a bar meal at the Crow. What a friendly lively little place full of locals having a Friday catch up. The barmaid and publican were so welcoming to us blow in out of towner's. Steak, Chips and Salad for me and hubby got Fish, Chips and Salad. $16.00 each. We are big eaters and were impressed with the size... More

When I discovered that my uncle Mick (Johnny Jones) & aunty Jean lived near The Crow I was absolutely delighted, & couldn't wait to join them for a beer. We had some brilliant nights out here as everyone's so friendly & there's such a great atmosphere. I did Karaoke for the first time in my life with uncle Mick &... More

Set in a quite town, it's easy to spot the pub at Nelson Square. The pub has a restaurant and a jackpot lounge. Seen to have a live band stage which is defunct now. Ordered steak and fish and chips but both are not the best I had. The supposedly medium done steak is overcooked and the fish and chips... More

Stayed the night here in our motorome, to catch ferry in the morning. Pub is a bit dated, but clean enough. Heard from locals, the pub puts on a good feed. We stayed on a Tuesday night, seemed quiet from outside looking in. Heaps of locals came in for a feed... very busy at times $13 specials daily. Steak, eggs... More

Pan fried fish was quite good. Salads pretty basic. No modem dressings (salad cream, yuck!) and OK chips. Prices average but overpriced for the standard. Grumpy, 'dinners in the dog' service. Lots of Rip Van Winkles there. OK for locals. Definitely traditional NZ local sports bar (sounds more exotic than it was).

We stayed in the carpark here in our caravan, ready to catch the ferry in the morning. A great place to stay. We had dinner in the Tavern itself, the people were extremely friendly and welcoming. The meal was fantastic, we had steak, chips and salad and were served so much that neither of us were able to finish the... More

While visiting a friend here in Picton she suggested we all go to the Crow for dinner. This is a traditional pub type of establishment. There is plenty of parking just off Nelson Square ( the giant roundabout just outside Picton centre on Rte 1). When entering you first see Pool tables and people playing. Proceed to the Bar and... Nestled in the picturesque town of Picton at the top of the South Island, New Zealand, and at the gateway to the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, is the ‘Crow Tavern. A home away from home for the local residents of Picton and tourists as well. Located on the town square it is the only Tavern in town and is surrounded by a residential area. The Crow has a full restaurant, public bar, lounge bar, bottle store, smoking area, gaming room and garden bar. It is a place where business is done, jokes are told and celebrations are held. The ladies feel comfortable in the bar and the staff and patrons are one big family. Customers share their family occasions here and sit outside in the pretty garden bar all summer long. In winter the huge open fire is a big draw card along with the big screen TVs for watching the rugby.Around the tavern are many photos of local rugby teams, fishing excursions and boats in precarious positions previously owned by local patrons. The Tavern was first built in 1855 and has been rebuilt twice since. The Crow is one of the few places in Marlborough with history of the area on the walls. The restaurant has a wall dedicated to ‘The Echo’, one of the oldest ships in the world which is now beached at Shelly beach near the town center.
