A wonderful roof top restaurant with live music, a large menu to choose from, from traditional Cuban dishes to salads and pastas. Very affordable prices, service was fabulous, staff speaks fluent English, definitely a must while visiting TrinidadMore

We had dinner on the beautiful roof terrace, which was nice, but didn't offer a sunset view, as you can enjoy at other restaurants in Trinidad. The service was mediocre at best: the staff didn't seem to be bothered to tend to our needs and...we often had to try several times to get their attention. I ordered the lamb, which turned out to be a mistake. The meat was very leathery en though to chew. A bummer, because my companions did enjoy their dishes: chicken and fish. Wifi was good though!More

Its a nice location, the rooftop terrace was great. The food was so-so but it was nice to be on the rooftop at night.

Had a very good lunch in Monte y Mar, on the terrace, enjoying the sun and the food. Totally recommend the green gazpacho with avocado :D
Hidden away on a roof top terrace, with nice view across old Trinidad . Shady seating areas, and friendly staff. Had a nice simple lunch and some drinks, nice fresh food and a good portion size. Would recommend this little gem.

We were recommended Monte y Mar by our casa owner but unfortunately their food quality and portion sizes don't match up to the US style prices. Of the ten days the 5 of us spent in Cuba this was our only disappointing meal. It's too...bad because the place is very pretty and has so much possibility on a pretty rooftop terrace. The waitress didn't seem to know a lot about the menu or the drink menu. She had to go ask someone else every time we had a question about a drink or entree. We don't think it was a language barrier issue either because two members of our group spoke fluent spanish. Two of us ordered shrimp dishes: Shrimp enchiladas, and another kind of shrimp with pineapple. Both dishes were disappointing and not very filling. My husband's Ropa Vieja lamb dish didn't really taste like lamb at all. He was very disappointed.Other tables had complementary bread but they ran out of bread for our table. The entree prices were too high for Cuba in my opinion. Most items ran a minimum of 12CUC. Drinks weren't very generous either. They did however offer us each a complementary cigar at the end of dinner. Which I found to be a very redeeming touch although I likely wouldn't visit again as this seems to be more of a restaurant designed to cater to tourists rather than one with an authentic flavor.More

Not cheap but very tasty, nicely presented and a lovely evening is spent eating and drinking on the upstairs balcony. On top of that, you are presented with a momento before you leave

Wonderful evening terrace dining. The menu has a wide variety of Cuban and continental food. Lobster was large and well prepared. While there are several great sounding pork dishes, I went with the typical ropa vieja which did not disappoint. Our young server was efficient,...attentive and a delight to interact with. We saw a variety of dishes go to other tables and every plate not only looked delicious, but was an artistic presentation as well. There are several really good restaurants in Trinidad and Monte y Mar is one of them. And offers terrace dining.More

We spent 3 days in Trinidad and were two times in the beautiful restaurant with the nice terrace. We had a lot of fun with Xavier and we teached him how „Radler“ (beer and sprite) is tasting😋 We enjoyed different food especially the lobster was...our favourite!!! Finally we had a glas of old ron and got as present a wonderful (also ladylike) cigar from Xavier😘 We really can recommend that restaurant „Monte y Mar“ in Trinidad!More

We came across Monte Y Mare on the second night of our stay in Trinidad. It was on one of the quieter streets so not as busy as some others but we decided to give it a go. We were so glad we did! We...were led upstairs to the most beautiful roof terrace - very old world and romantic vibe. Service was great - very friendly. The food was excellent. I ordered the lobster and I got just that - an entire delicious lobster! For a very good price with beautiful presentation and lovely sides of rice, salad and pumpkin. My husband ordered the seafood paella- it arrived with a dramatic lobster tail adorning it. It was definitely a carribean twist on the spanish dish including grilled spiced banana/plantain - sounds weird but it was actually also delicious - really worth trying. I had the house signature cocktail - again lovely to behold as well as taste. One of the best meals we had on our holiday and we had many good meals. Cuba's reputation for food is deservedly changing and growing.More

I wouldn't usually eat pizza when travelling abroad, but after several days in Cuba with overall poor food (even the traditional local plates like ropa vieja and lechon, tended to be dry and tasteless) and a mild case of traveler's stomach, we were looking for...something light and unoffensive, and the review for this restaraunt on the Cuba app said "magnificent pizza". The menu said "Pizza Neopolitano" and we were thinking that sounded just great. But the pizza was disappointing - crust was like a bland lavash, with bland sauce and cheese that tasted akin to cheap cheddar.. I also had a bowl of the Andalusian gazpacho, which was fairly good. The waitress was very friendly and knew when to drop by - she wasn't always hovering, but would stop in when our drinks were empty. It was around $18-20 CUC for the above, plus a couple beers, including tip.More

We had an amazing night eating with friends at this terrace. Cozy environment and tasty lobsters on a reasonable price: exactly the things we were looking for while trying to choose a restaurant in Trinidad.
Nice restaurant in Trinidad. The roof terrace is great, and the food is good as well. This is one of the best paladares that I tried while in Trinidad. Staff was really nice and helpful as well.More

One of the most delicious "paladares" in Trinidad. Hosted by a lovely family! We weren't looking for food when we saw the place, but after taking a look at their menu and the romantic cozy-rooftop, we decided to come back for dinner and didn't regret...later. We recommend the "Cordero en albahaca y yerbabuena".More
