Stopped here on a Sunday morning and found the place busy, as to be expected. Grabbed a spot at the bar and had good service from the three bartenders. The coffee was a touch expensive ($4), but tasted better than I expected. There's a good variety on the menu and the prices are reasonable. I went with the banana foster... More

BEST. TIME. EVER!!! LOVED IT!!! From the reservation to the end of our meal, this was the best dining experience ever! It is a daunting task to select a restaurant in a big city for a group. I am so glad I selected Founding Farmers! Fifteen of us descended on this restaurant for dinner celebrating my retirement. What an enjoyable... More

Every time I go, I love FF more and more. The drinks are as awesome as the food. Love the bacon lolli's and bacon wrapped dates!

Very good quality food & varied menu to suit all tastes. Very well priced for a city. Would recommend to book as it was very busy. Went 3 times in first 2 days in Washington.

Obviously very popular as got there before 9am and asked if we'd booked. By the time we ordered there wasn't a spare table to be had. Breakfast was good and quite a lot of choices. The thick bacon was nice as was the hash brown with leek. Freshly squeezed juice was fresh and tasty. Service was efficient and coffee refills... More

Hats Off for Farm-to-Table food, but somethings missing... Maybe it's the less than exciting plate presentation or the many mistakes with the delivery of our entrees. Our server was pleasant and the salad dressing tasted deliciously fresh. The homemade sauces on our entrees were all exceptional. Skip dessert because the serving size is enormous, but lacks flavor.

This is a hidden charm in DC. Food was so good and comforting. I tried the roast pot and it was awesome. The meat was so juicy and flavorful and the accompanied vegies were perfect. Drink can be expensive and the wait is long though.

We read about this place on Yelp. The food was fine but a little overpriced. I'm not uote sure why there is so much hype??

The food was about average for the price and the service was slow as is expected here. I would not order the chili again.

I have been to this restaurant many times. This was my first poor experience. I ordered their rotisserie chicken which came out dry as a bone. I never do this, but I had to send it back. Instead I ordered their mini burger sliders which were delicious. As usual, the place was packed, even for lunch, so I recommend making... More

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
