Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The greater at this restaurant was so nice and comfortable. She was so welcoming. She is the reason I am glad we chose here to eat. Now the food was very good. My only thought was that I asked for salad dressing on the side,...and it did not come that way. We saw our server once to order, and then with the check, no other time. The cost was high, but it is DC so not surprisedMore

Our group dining experience far exceeded expectations. This was a wonderful destination for a large group dinner from the welcome cocktail to the warm butter cake dessert. Ebony helped me plan the perfect initial dinner for DC meeting attendees and the onsite staff executed the...experience very well. I highly recommend this restaurant for dining needs for seafood lovers and strictly carnivores.More

Truly fining dining! The Crab Cake and Shrimp Sauté were delicious to split. Topped off with the Jalapeño Au Gratin Potatoes, we had a meal that was beautifully prepared and delicious. Would love to return!

My son chose this as his celebratory dinner for his master's graduation and it was an excellent choice! Our party had chicken, lobster, crab, steak, fish/Branzini, lobster mac cheese, truffle fries, Au gratin potatoes, and calamari and some drinks. And peanut butter pie for desert...(amazing we had room but we couldn't say no!) Everything was fantastic. It was a busy Friday night and we never felt ignored, we always had the attention of our waiter. Amazing menu and the food was spectacular. I might have to visit DC more often just to go here.More

Our normal place for lunch and dinner when visiting D.C. The waiters we have are among the best out of anywhere we have been to! Food and wines are always spot on!

We had a wonderful experience here. The ambience and service was fantastic and Will was especially helpful and attentive. We enjoyed the variety on the menu and it was all cooked to perfection. This may be the best blackened snapper (or any fish) I have...had. And the wine list was impressive. We had enjoyed Ocean Prime in NYC and now DC. We can't wait to go back!More

Now perhaps these things are palatable when served with a heaping helping of overly loud urban dance tunes but floating into my consciousness less than a week after dining at Walt's Seafood Restaurant in Sarasota they were an abomination, an insult, a smackdown, the gastronomical...equivalent of a dermalogical procedure conducted with a heated grapefruit spoon. In a word, nasty. In two words, pretentiously overpriced. In three words, oh heck no. The staff were pleasant enough but far too adept with barely believable excuses. For example: Someone must have spilled water into the sauce. Let me get you a new portion. (And you weren't aware that cocktail sauce should not be the same shade as a cheap rose'?) Yes, of course the shrimp cocktail is fresh. (They were fresh last week when the bag of frozen decapitated crustaceans were thrown into your freezer. And nobody ever taught you how to thaw them so their poor quality wasn't immediately evident? Fresh shrimp are NEVER, EVER chewy and sinewy. They pop when bitten into.) Yes, of course the Chilean Sea Bass is supposed to have that shiny film on the flesh: otherwise it is overcooked. (Shiny? Filmy? Let's go for the mot juste: slime and undercooked. Nothing about this fish would ever be flaky. And the taste was like thrice-licked linoleum.) My son talked me into eating here for his birthday because he'd had decent salmon. Maybe that's the secret. Salmon. Even when it's bad, it's adequate. At least Red Lobster has cheese biscuits and you know what you're in for.More

My wife and daughter chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. We made reservations several weeks in advance and made sure we adhered to the dress code which was prominently displayed on the website as well as when you walk into the restaurant. We...were not seated off the main room and the meal started off fine...good drinks and a nice shrimp cocktail appetizer. As we got to the main course, several people were seated around us and began to play musical chairs, moving from table to table. One gentleman decided to sit at the empty table right next to my wife, wearing a sweat suit and baseball cap. He thought it was a good idea to then watch a video with the volume turned up right next to us. He bounced from table to table and then finally decided to sit across the room from us. He was replaced by a couple wearing similar attire with two small children in a stroller which they parked so close to us that we could not even reposition our chairs. As could be expected, the kids were playing video games with no headsets. The wait staff and managers observed all of this and made no effort to do anything about any of this. Suffice to say, our dinner was ruined and we could not wait to leave. On they way out, my wife spoke to a manager who had no answers, only to give her his business card and say come back and try us again. Now this meal, which by the way was very overpriced for the food and cost $400. For that amount of money, we would have hoped that the behavior of the other patrons would be managed appropriately. If this was a fast food restaurant, no problem...I would fully expect kids to be playing on their devices. For a white linen, high-end and VERY expensive restaurant, not so much. For those considering dining here, save your money and time and go elsewhere....this establishment just isn't worth it. The management team and wait staff failed miserably to not only enforce their own policies on dress, but also to stop the disruptive behavior.More

I took a group out for dinner here and we had a nice room to ourselves that fits 12. I have to give props to the restaurant for finding us space as we were coming from a conference and did not have a set head...count until that day, where other places just said no to a reservation. They did say there would be a minimum cost to have the room, and we did exceed it. What I did not expect was how easy it was to exceed it without getting a correspondingly high quality dinner. Please make no mistake that this was a good meal, but the prices involved required it to be an amazing meal. Our server seemed very eager to please, but I believe he called everything "amazing" repeatedly. Our assisting server tended to disappear from time to time leaving our room waiting multiple times. For example, we waited a long time to order our entrees, but we did have a quick turnaround on cocktail orders. I have to give huge props on the wine, as we had a bottle of Cinque Cepage that was wonderful and worth every penny, but sadly they only had the one bottle left. Seafood tower was impressive to see, but the seafood on it tasted clearly of being frozen and thawed (while we were told repeatedly about things being flown in for freshness). I will say I was very happy with my steak, but the surf part of my surf and turf was labeled as a "deshelled lobster tail" It looked more like lobster leavings or almost like shrimp and was very small, especially considering the price. Sides were great as were the desserts. The bill hurt quite a bit considering what we received. Again, I would have been very happy with the meal if the bill were about 40% less than it was. I just can't see the justification for the price (other than that utterly amazing bottle of wine).More

DC summer restaurant week is almost over so decided to check out this restaurant - this being a chain we are pretty sure we've been to its locations in other cities before but have never been to this one in DC. It's fairly large with...modern upscale steakhouse decor - dark wood panels, lots of glass and mirrors, low subdued lighting, many booth seats, and several dining rooms possible for private or business events. Diners tend to be a bit more dressed up here than in the more casual places. I always like this kind of dining environment as the tables are all sufficiently spaced providing more privacy and less noise so that you can have quiet conversations and leisurely meals. The RW lunch menu is pretty standard, with one each of chicken, beef and fish entree options. We had the Caesar salad - tasty with Parmesan crisps, teriyaki salmon - cooked a perfect medium (although a bit lukewarm) with interesting combination on top of sticky rice, and juicy cheeseburger with a huge amount of fat fries. Dessert's a bit disappointing with chocolate chip cookies which came bagged in plastic - in this case however a good thing as we were pretty stuffed so it was convenient to just take the cookies with us - to have later with afternoon tea!More
