Very New Orleans type food is served here. It is a restaurant with a bar and has live music on certain days. Very rustic feel on the outside and inside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is really good in fact we went back a second time.

Had a awesome time with family last night in this great spot. If your looking for something off the beaten path of downtown, then jump in this spot for some music and a relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good.

This was across from our hotel, so we tried it based on TripAdvisor reviews - spot on! It's not highbrow, but friendly, casual, dark & relaxing after a busy day out touristing. Cocktails were inventive and generous. Really excellent jambalaya, the chicken was moist, crispy, but not greasy - with a little bit of tingle on the tongue. Excellent collard... More

Wow was I surprised. The gumbo, the jambalaya, and the staff all spot on. Can't wait to go back and share with others.

We came here on our last night in Washington as it was a short walk from our hotel. I had the fried chicken and my wife had the blackened catfish. Both were excellent as were the craft ales we washed them down with. Good, prompt, friendly service and an enjoyable, informal ambience. No complaints at all.

We have visited for lunch and dinner and eaten outside and inside. We have found the service to be quite good even when they have been very busy. Having visited New Orleans many times and having enjoyed the food and flavors there, we have been pleasantly surprised by Bayou. It is a lively place on Pennsylvania Ave before it crosses... More

We came in almost close to their closing time but still we had a great time and great food. It was my husband's Bday that day and we had a feast at a very reasonable price. It is just across the hotel that we stayed in. So accessible. The servers and receptionist are so accomodating

My wife and I travel to NOLA a few times a year for the past 11 years and I was a little skeptical of trying a New Orleans restaurant in DC. But I was really pleasantly surprised. The small 2 story restaurant did a great job of capturing the vibe of a causal New Orleans eatery. The servers and hostesses... More

OMG!!!! Everything was great. I ate there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the entire weekend. I could not get enough of this place. The bread pudding was the best in the land and the Po Boys are to die for.

This unobtrusive Cajun bistro was a great find. Gumbo, crab cakes, bananas foster were among our dinner selections and everything was delicious.
