We had dinner during a recent family trip in Washington. It was located right across our hotel. The food and service was very good. We received great service. The ambience and the decor of the place is nice. The drinks though was so-so. W

My husband and I just returned from the inauguration. We saw Bayou on a walk and thought to give it a try. Awesome staff, quiet little bar/restaurant and no wait. We both had the shrimp and grits. Without a doubt the best we ever had! For a bar, there is no draft beer only bottles which was a bit disappointing.... More

Unpretentious New Orleans. My daughter had their Jambalaya – a hearty meal with big char-grilled shrimps and andouille sausages tossed into jambalaya rice, held together with a body of tomatoes, finished with chopped spring onions. It was simple, non-nonsense and good on your senses. I went for Shrimp & Grits – a generous serving with several large succulent shrimps, sautéed... More

It's a bar/restaurant that is very dark. So dark, my wife almost missed the lipstick stain on her water glass. The food is very hard to review because I loved mine while my wife didn't care for hers at all. To be fair, my wife doesn't like southern food so she ordered items that are not traditionally cajun. Her spinach... More

Very New Orleans type food is served here. It is a restaurant with a bar and has live music on certain days. Very rustic feel on the outside and inside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is really good in fact we went back a second time.

Had a awesome time with family last night in this great spot. If your looking for something off the beaten path of downtown, then jump in this spot for some music and a relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good.

This was across from our hotel, so we tried it based on TripAdvisor reviews - spot on! It's not highbrow, but friendly, casual, dark & relaxing after a busy day out touristing. Cocktails were inventive and generous. Really excellent jambalaya, the chicken was moist, crispy, but not greasy - with a little bit of tingle on the tongue. Excellent collard... More

Wow was I surprised. The gumbo, the jambalaya, and the staff all spot on. Can't wait to go back and share with others.
