Good food (though some dishes a bit over salted), generous portions, good beer and wine selection from the Czech region. Heavy on the meats consistent with what we found on our trip to the Czech Republic. Very attentive and knowledgable staff. Reasonably priced for Washington DC.

A wonderful neighborhood restaurant with great food that is not the ordinary fare. Eastern European varieties are all excellent. Service is friendly and efficient. Absolutely worth a visit.

...The potato pancakes (‘ƒ‹ƒƒ̰̈́‘ƒ‹ƒƒ̰̈́Moravian Cmunda) and the Veggie burger are must-haves! The fries are excellent too. The best part, though, is their coffee! Every cup is meticulously prepared and is delicious! I have tried the flat white, the cappuccino, the maple mocha latte, and the orange cardamom latte, and they are all EXCEPTIONAL. The service is great, the ambience (indoor ... More

This is one of my favorite places in Shaw. It has maintained its status even with the influx of so many new hot spots into the neighborhood. It's good, comforting food, served at a reasonable price, in an unassuming place without any pretense. Great VERY affordable wine list. Pretty good cocktails, too! Pierogi a must and their new menu is... More

Stopped by for a quick bite and found a great place for food. The dishes were well prepared and tasted incredible. We had Perogi and a several other dishes that came out quickly. Loved every bite. Leftovers tasted great as well.

This restaurant is serving classic central european fare. Pork, schnitzel, goulash, sauerkraut and pierogi's. Good news for us is that they also have 3 or 4 vegetarian options. The kids always eat schnitzel and they loved the ones served here. The Goulash is perfect. There is a sizable wine and cocktail list for a small restaurant. They make some good... More

Around the corner from the Howard Theater, the restaurant offers not only convenience but also excellent food. The only possible complaint may be that the servings are large. If you do not have the discipline to stop when you are full, you might think they are too large. We enjoyed exploration of the drink menu with items we had never... More

Easy going and welcoming place with terrific food. Informal small seating area nearest to entrance with larger seating area in second "dining room." Welcoming staff. Terrific place for an off the cuff weekday lunch or dinner.

My husband and I were in DC on vacation and this restaurant was suggested to us by the owner of the apartment we rented. We loved it! The staff was very friendly and courteous. The beverages and food were divine! We ended up eating there every day we were in DC. The beverages I tried were the: Czech Mule, Green... More

Went with an actual Slovakian, and she vouched for the authenticity of the food! Everything was delicious and the portions were big. There was also a large selection of Czech beers and liquors, which I am told by my European friend are hard to find in this area. They no longer had the Slovakian wine my friend was looking for,...
