I just stopped here for a beer at the bar. They have a nice window where you can watch people pass by. The bartender was very nice. I didn’t order food but it looked good. The prices were on the high end

This historic pub was a fun to visit and eat for dinner. We had a big group and reserved months ahead of time. We were a bit annoyed with the host at the beginning. He first said we needed half our group to be seated....More

Very quickly, this restaurant is currently resting on it's reputation as one of the oldest, continually run places in DC. Pluses, the service is adequate, the original seating area (do not sit in the atrium...you'll be disappointed) is fun, the bar is solid, albeit uncreative....More

You would think being so central and close to the White House and the ornate decor that it wouldn’t be that good and that it would be expensive. Wrong. We arrived for lunch and whilst it was busy we got a seat right away. A...More

If you want a great meal and great atmosphere visit the Old Ebbitt Grill. The best filet I’ve had in a very long time.

The atmosphere, food quality, and customer service were all top notch. Specialty cocktails made at any of the 4 bars located within the restaurant. You definitely need a reservation for dining. It is a must visit location in Washington DC.

Old Ebbit’s Grill has an interesting history in that it has been located at several sites near the White House and retains some of the fixtures and facades of its previous locations. At present, it is part of the Clyde’s Restaurant Group. The food is...More

I am sorry for the delay. The lighting is very subdued. There were no flashing lights and the bar area is dim. The dining area is well lit but not "bright white".

Established in 1856, the Old Ebbitt Grill was a favorite of Presidents Grant, Cleveland, Harding, and Theodore Roosevelt. The restaurant's decor is comprised of a Beaux-Arts facade, mahogany and velvet booths, and bars set in marble, brass, and beveled glass. Old Ebbitt serves a diverse selection of food including steaks, seafood, pasta, sandwiches, and also features an Oyster Bar with oysters form both coasts. Open early for breakfast and weekend brunch, and serving lunch, dinner and a late-night menu. Private and semi-private dining rooms including a rooftop overlooking the monuments and The White House.
