Very restaurant in the style of an old British pub with dark wooden walls and large dining room tables. Excellent choice of both meat and fish and starters. Try the rack of lamb - does not disappoint!

From the place to be for breakfast in Washington, to one of the coziest spots in town for dinner, the Tabard Inn never disappoints. The menu is eclectic and locally sourced, the results have never disappointed. On a summer evening, there's no better place to be than dinner on the patio at the Tabard.

Just had lunch with friends at Tabard Inn Restaurant. It is in s lovely s hotel in DuPont Circle. We had everything from trout to burgers and everyone enjoy their food. It was very crowded and noisy at lunch. We had a great time and spoils recommend.

Wonderful food and drinks in an ageless and warm inn, that is a DC landmark Unfortunately we were seated next to an unpleasant loud boisterous party of six, which detracted from the experience. Service was good at the beginning of our 8pm reservation, but after the main courses were served, our waitstaff became scarcer and scarcer. Eventually got tired of... More

The building itself is very interesting with a quaint, quiet feel. The menu and prices were reasonable. The host was incredibly rude. Our waitress was DRUNK. She wreaked of vodka and only stopped by our table once. We waited for water for 20 minutes, placed our order, and then never saw our waitress again. We never got refills or any... More

My husband and I dined at the Tabard Inn restaurant on our anniversary prior to seeing a play at a nearby theater. We had a great experience! I love the coziness of inns and the restaurant captured the feel perfectly. The dining area we were in was intimate and charming, the holiday decor added to the lovely ambiance. The seasonal... a perfect meal in a very pleasant dining room: great soup and salad, excellent seared trout with beets and pomegranate sauce, shrimp and grits with andouille was superb.

For decades I stayed at the Tabard Inn when visiting DC but this time I stayed at the Dupont Circle Hotel and ate lunch and dinner at the Tabard Inn Restaurant for old times sake. Well I won't be going back. Staff are mostly (not everyone) surly and inattentive and the tables for two are in unappealing locations. The oysters... More

The food is good, the wine list is very good and the crowd is eclectic. When you go, try to plan to have drinks in the lounge area with sofas and card tables before or after dinner. Take your time here and enjoy the old world charm.

The Tabard Inn is an institution in Washington and I hope it stays that way for another 50 years. Was there when there was an excellent jazz vocalist/guitar duo in the lounge with a bluegrass group out on the patio - what fun!! Aside from a full service bar with tasty libations and mixes to order, the oysters were fresh... More
