That short block on P Street west of the Circle has always been home to terrific local restaurants, and Al Tiramisu is one of them. It's a place long-time DC denizens know for freshly prepared pasta, Mediterranean veal or fish and of, desserts, including a nominally guilt-free yoghurt panna cotta, which was awesome. This is the type of place locals... More

This was a great dinner! The menu offered exactly what we wanted which was great salads and a variety of pasta options. There was also lots of fish and meat options. The bread was excellent. The wait staff was very easy, friendly and enthusiastic! Nice wine list. The total package!

It has been several years since visiting this area. The occasion of our visit and the opportunity to see old friends brought us back to try the restaurant again. We were not disappointed. The fresh fish specials were top notch. One friend had the veal special and gave it an "A". Service was attentive. Not rushed. Friendly as well. Close... More

Comfortable restaurant, service good but a waiter who was a bit full of himself. We had fennel and orange salad, linguine and clams, fettucini ragu and duck breast. The food was good but not knock your socks off. Tiramisu, tartufo and gelato for dessert and coffee, also good. One bottle of chianti, tax, tip, valet and we were pushing $400.... More

After a long day of travel, we were so pleased to find a restaurant with a phenomenal menu that was nearby and came highly recommended. The food was great, however, after being served we were ignored for the balance of our meal. No water refresh despite many trips past the table by the waiter and the hostess. No eye contact.... This restaurant is exactly what I think of for a small Italian restaurant. It is relatively small with tables close together in the basement of a building the heart of the Dupont Circle area. I dined alone at 8:30pm on Thursday night, and the restaurant was not crowded but not deserted either. The service was excellent. The menu had lots... More

Excellent (albeit expensive) Italian food with creative dishes, particularly the specials. Service is fine, although perhaps not as truly helpful as it could be (staff kept deflecting real answers about dishes to say everything is great). The room is not too loud (big plus and unusual these days), so you can have a real conversation over dinner. But, when I... More

My husband took me here for a birthday dinner on a recent trip to DC, and it was perfect. I was raised across the street from my Italian grandparent's bakery in Pittsburgh, and I have high standards when it comes to Italian food in general, and Al Tiramisu meet every expectation I have. First, the restaurant is in an unassuming... More

My wife and I stayed in a hotel near DuPont Circle for three nights, and on the first night stumbled upon Al Tiramisu. It looked a little pricey given the clothes we were wearing, and we lacked a reservation on what was a busy night, but the hostess found us a table and made us feel right at home. I... More

Went with family and I must say that though it's a small restaurant and tables are very very close to each other it turned to give you a cozy feeling and it was not noisy. We all ate pasta and portions were the right size. Pasta was al dente, sauces were perfect, panne was excellent, wine was exquisite. So we... More
