Went here alone on a chilly night and got two tacos, rice and beans, and a Tecate. I never would have expected a side dish of black beans to blow my mind, but it did. The beans were creamy and very flavorful, evident that they were made on location and with a lot of care. The tacos were great too... More

Don't let the size and outside seating only deter you. Food was fresh, really enjoyed it. THe woman at the counter was helpful and very friendly. Even brought our order out to the table as we waiting a little bit. Will go back!

I've actually waited a long time to try Chupacabra. It's been a local "hot spot" for awhile and every time I've popped by, the long lines and lack of seating deterred me. But I kept thinking "wow, that place MUST be great." I don't know if I've just come too late to the party and this place is no longer... More

I'm actually a little nervous about writing a positive review as I don't want this place to become so popular,I'll have to fight the crowds. However, I feel its my duty to let people know that the food here is AMAZING!! The meats are really good here (especially the pulled pork and chicken), and the salsa is really good! My... More

This is a genuine hole in the wall with outdoor seating (covered), but the food is okay. We've eaten here a couple of times when we were nearby. The menu has both familiar and less familiar Mexican and other items. Order at the counter, and they bring it to your table. We liked what we had well enough, but we... More

The frozen margaritas were good but that's about where it ended. Sitting outside the mosquitoes ate us alive. The food was average almost even cold. The one good thing was the salsa. An unexpected kick.

I went here one nice Saturday afternoon and wanted something quick to eat. I got a taco with chorizo in it and also a jarritos. The taco was spicy which I typically don't get but it was soooo good! The flavor was awesome. I had never had a jarritos before and that was delish. I don't typically drink soda but... More

thats right, free beer when you're ordering. The food here is really nice; real mexican food and great service. There is plenty on the menu to choose from and the meal sizes are great. Plenty of drink options and the location and ambience are both great. Great, well priced dinner out with friends - maybe not the first date though.

The atmosphere is "neat" and a good place to people watch. The food was surprisingly good. The Yuca & chicharones were fantastic! Get some! I got the tacos with rice and beans and they were both really good! My husband had the cuban sandwich and he said it was good as well. Definitely worth a try at least once...

My co-worker lives in the area and recommended Chupacabra, so I stopped by after visiting the H street festival. I ordered a shredded beef taco, a fried tilapia taco, and a Corona. The tacos come in two corn tortillas and are topped with radishes, red onions and cilantro--cheese, pico de gallo and guacamole are extra. The tacos were cheap and... More
