Our waitress impressed us with her extensive knowledge of the intricacies of the various types of beer. We all had flights and although we had our favorites, none were bad. Love the fact that their fish tacos can be made with salmon. The asian lettuce wraps are great!

We LOVE The Alehouse! So much fun with delicious burgers and fish and chips. Beer is first rate and we have never had a bad server. Eat there, eat there, eat there!

The server kindly placed us near the window of this friendly venue so we could see the children parading downtown for Halloween. While the staff was busy with children and other patrons, service was very good as was the food. I had a sparkling wine and my sister had a great craft beer she liked very much.

Haven't been there for a while because the quality of the food had started to get a little inconsistent. However had a great lunch there the other day. They have a new, expanded menu with lots of great choices and the food was terrific. Of course a great selection of beer to go along with it also helped! Definitely back... More

Everyone I know wants to come here when they come to visit. Nothing impresses me. The beer is pretty good. Food is ok. It's not bad enough to stay away but not good enough if I was choosing. The cheese bread is very good- but it's in a bowl of oil and vinegar. I would get this on the side... More

This is our go-to place whenever we are in or through Auburn. They make a great range of beers, and the sampler is a good way to test your range of tastes in beers and ales. For me, it's mostly about the hops, so I go for their Hop Donkey and PU240. But they also have pilsner, lager, and stout... More

Love this place. They have a limited menu but everything is so good. It is a brewery and has a great selection. Place is loud with fun and enjoyable atmosphere. They have the best Ruben sandwich ever. Nice outside seating. Full bar and a great friendly place. Service is great. Prices are also not bad. You will love this place.

The place rocks! The brew is on tap and the selections are fabulous. Good luck getting a seat at the bar... However there are plenty of tables to be seated at, both indoors and outdoors in the patio. The food was perfectly prepared, tasty. This will be a regular stop for our next trip through this area. There is a... More

Cool location in old Auburn, in fact the other night I walked by and there was great live music. The weekend lunch I had with family on the terrace made everybody else happy. However, I've had better salads from 7-11.

Brian & Lisa Ford opened Auburn Alehouse Brewery & Restaurant in 2007 in the iconic Shanghai Restaurant, embracing the building's character and colorful history in the heart of Historic Auburn. While enjoying their full bistro menu, patrons can often see Brian & his brewers making world-class beer in small batches, using only the finest malted barley and American-grown hops. With a collection of prestigious awards hanging on the wall it's easy to see why the SacBee recently said Auburn Alehouse is one of the region's premier craft breweries. Favorites include the Gold Digger IPA (CA State Fair Gold Medal Winner), Gold Country Pilsner (GABF Gold Medal Winner), Hop Donkey (GABF Silver Medal Winner) and PU240 IPA! Lunch and Dinner are served every day, while our Brunch menu is served on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-noon. Don't forget we have a dog friendly patio!
