We stopped in on our way from Sacramento to Tahoe. The location was very charming not a whole lot of available parking. But the beer was great and the cheese loaf on their menu is a must. Staff was very friendly!

Auburn is becoming the hot spot for quality craft beer and this place is The Godfather. It might not be as well know as Knee Deep or as well-awarded as Moonraker, but the beers here are incredibly solid. The other don’t miss here is the...More

I love stouts and the Shanghai Stout is delicious. Went on a Wednesday night and had about a 45 minute wait which was no problem because we had a drink at the bar. There was plenty of room outside but it was cold and we...More

This is one of our favorite places for good American food in Auburn. It's a wonderfully historic building in Old Town Aburn. The only down side is it is so good it gets packed and noisy.

Friendly quick service. Good selection of beers. Great munchies (pretzel with beer cheese a bit expensive, but oh so good)

The auburn ale house needs more room! The beer is so good. The food is excellent for traditional pub fare. And therefore it can be standing room only. Billy don’t let that stop you. It’s worth the wait to get in and try it.

Brian & Lisa Ford opened Auburn Alehouse Brewery & Restaurant in 2007 in the iconic Shanghai Restaurant, embracing the building's character and colorful history in the heart of Historic Auburn. While enjoying their full bistro menu, patrons can often see Brian & his brewers making world-class beer in small batches, using only the finest malted barley and American-grown hops. With a collection of prestigious awards hanging on the wall it's easy to see why the SacBee recently said Auburn Alehouse is one of the region's premier craft breweries. Favorites include the Gold Digger IPA (CA State Fair Gold Medal Winner), Gold Country Pilsner (GABF Gold Medal Winner), Hop Donkey (GABF Silver Medal Winner) and PU240 IPA! Lunch and Dinner are served every day, while our Brunch menu is served on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-noon. Don't forget we have a dog friendly patio!
