I know that a lot of people like this place but I just do not know why. For me, the food is either too salty, too bland, and one time it was just putrid. Even my 16 year old, eat everything in the house, son agrees with this one. Again, why do people like this place. I have no idea.... More

Stopped here with a recommendation with a friend. They operate another restaurant in Rocklin. Loved the service and food. Over look the decor. I like how they put jack cheese on their chicken taco and cheddar on the beef taco! Please tip the staff well. Thank you Luis for the cooking!

Our family was visiting from the east coast and wanted to eat at an authentic Mexican restaurant. What can we say? The restaurant truly deserves five stars-absolutely a great value and a great meal.

Cafe D taint nothin special to look at. In fact most of their restaurants are pretty dumpy. Our favorite is the chicken enchilada. It's made with green sauce, tender white meat chicken, jack cheese and a nice blob of sour cream. Their rice is good and beans are creamy and tasty (probably due to lard). Tuesday's you can get 3... This place, you've gotta love it, it's sort of funky and Martin is a great cook and host too. Thank you for making the best hot sauce in the whole world. I've been eating cheese enchiladas at the oldtown Café D since I was in shortpants and I'm still in love with this place--both of them and the Rocklin one... More

The food was bland, no flavor which surprised me being that it was Mexican! The menu was to vague. I ordered a chicken enchilada and it had onions. The menu did not specify onions. We won't be returning. Over paid for quality!

Having grown up in San Joaquin County and vacationed many years in Mexico I know a little about good mexican food. The outside is nothing fancy. Inside is the same. However, the average ends there. We were greeted at the door with smiles and happiness. Our waiter was prompt and helpful. We all ordered something different, so to taste other... More

Nothing fancy, reasonably priced but don't expect anything spectacular. Food is always consistent, service is generally good. Old town location is a bugger to get a parking space to go there, so avoid high lunch or dinner traffic times.

This is one of my Favs, if you want real Mexican food this is your place. Great value for the money and good salsa. If your idea of Mexican food is Chevys fake mex, well you won't like it here. Yes it's a hole in the wall building, but who really cares. Luv this place.
