This has been my families favorite Mexican restaurant since before I can remember. And we come here almost every week, still. The staff are wonderful and the food is amazing. Try the Chili Con Queso. You won't be sorry you did!!!

I got a chicken burrito and it tasted like it had just been reheated in the microwave. The chili is suppppeeerrr watery and it was more of a burrito soup.

They do simple food very, very well. This is not a place for fancy. It is a place for delicious! The owners are extremely friendly and genuine. The quality of the ingredients in the food is very high. For example, the ground beef is very lean. We have never been disappointed.

The absolutely worst green chile ever!!! Watery and runny! I could not eat my meal. Chile Rellenos were cold inside and soggy from the water chile. Terrible!!!! The salad plate my Mom ordered was good and nicely presented. Chili Verde not worth a trip there

Every time I'm in Arvada I go to the Monterrey House for one thing - their salad plate. Great guac and a queso crisp that I love. My sister and I have gone here for over 30 years and I don't think we'v e ever eaten anything else.

There is something there for my whole family to love. My two year old loves the guacamole and beans, I love the salad plate (guac and chips, taco, bean tostada and the chile con queso). I saw people complain that the smothered chili is soup like, it is, but it is good with big chunks of pork and onions.

We heard good thing about their Burritos. It was almost the only thing on the menu and I wish I`d gotten them. I was in the mood for beef enchiladas. When they were served they came in a healthy pool of bland broth. No idea what that was about. It made them soggy and a poor meal choice. The others... More

I was just there yesterday for lunch, it's been awhile since I have been there. Because, I drive all the way from Littleton. It's a forty mile trip, I ate so much, I felt sick. I over gorged myself. But, I did see a difference this time. The green chili was a little more runny than usual, and lacking the... More

I used to poke fun at my father-in-law because he would only eat at about five restaurants. Ha! Where was his sense of adventure!?? Then, one night, dining out with my wife - at Monterrey House - for the umpteenth time, in nearly 30 years of marriage, it dawned on me; we are just like him!! Good is good. And... More

The food is good, but it's not the nicest place to eat. We eat here once or twice a month and the food is always good or really good.
