They have a long bar with a step back in time authentic decor. Clean and interesting. We were walking around so this was a great chance to quench our thirst.

Came for dinner and had to wait about 45 min. No worries, the bar offered a decent selection of tap beers at an ok price. We had the half rack of rib special and it was filling, as well as the steak salad. The salad was good, but nothing special. The atmosphere was fun and had a great vibe.

Dinner was good - typical 'bar' fare food. Trout was a bit dry but the crabcake was good. Burgers were not to the correct temperature. Prices were reasonable;wait staff were great but management/host could care less, Onto the next pub/bar/restaurant.

Lots of atmosphere - great bar menu with cheap delicious food. Great wine selection too. We just popped in for a quick drink & ended up eating there and there was such a great buzz.

The Red Onion offers that old world charm you would expect from a former minnig town , one of the original buildings of Aspen . Guess what the food and drinks are good and fairly priced (for Aspen)

I had a burger and brew there the other night. I first went to the Red Onion in 1967, when we drank beer and dance to a polka band. I always like to go back, when I come to ski at Snowmass. Our meals were good, not great. My burger could have been more tasty. The service was good.

I figured something that has been around for as long as this place would have worked out the food and drinks. I just didn't get that from our visit. The food left a bit to be desired, and service was below expectations. I should have guessed this from the "no reservations" policy, but it really is more of a bar... More

Aspen has clearly changed over the last 45 years. But the Red Onion is still an iconic emblem of the old days. It is in the same place--just no longer with gravel street out front. But you can gain a sense of old Aspen and the history by sitting at the bar--or dining in the front window. Aspen Sports--another iconic... More

This is a great bar any time lunch or dinner or just drinks for a little less than the fine dinning restaurants. Food is usually served in pretty large portions and should satisfy anyone.
