After a long drive across state, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a table right on the beach. Ohh La La!! Can't beat the setting. Probably the best beach lunch spot on AMI. Especially on a sunny day. The fish tacos featured black grouper that were very good (but you can find better on AMI). In addition to the standard... More

Excellent meal, good presentation. There is both an outdoor eating area and an indoor restaurant. Usually long wait for a table at sunset but last night we were seated immediately. They do not take reservations. More expensive than most local restaurants but they are right on the beach.

Just about the perfect place for a restaurant. Right on one of the beautiful beaches of Anna Maria Island and a spectacular place to watch the sunset. Sadly, the food offering doesn't match the setting. It was just a bit bland. I had bouillabaisse which was unrecognisable as one - but maybe I just picked wrongly. My fellow diners had... More

Enjoyed a delicious dinner at sunset with family and friends. All tables participate in a guess as to when the sun will fully set with the winner given the pleasure of ringing the large ship's bell. We started off with fried squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta, seafood fritters and coconut shrimp. The shrimp was the best choice as it had... More

The Sandbar Restaurant is now one of our favorite restaurants. The food is outstanding and watching the sunset during dinner is out of this world.

Enjoyed even moment of my lunch at the Sandbar. Was there at opening time so was able to get a table in the sand and enjoyed a wonderful meal and view of the Gulf! I had Stone Crab and Seafood Fritters and both were amazing. Along with a cold beer and a long walk on the beach afterwards it was... More

Visited for lunch today. Got there at about noon and were seated immediately. The restaurant is located directly on the beach, great views. My wife had a fish tostada special, it was just ok. I had a sausage sandwich, it also was just ok. We have eaten here before and were very pleased with the food at that time. Our... More

We were there for lunch as it was a beautiful day and we were looking for a place to sit out on the beach to eat. We ordered seafood fritters which were tasty, clam chowder which was full of clams, however our lunch entrees were lacking. We had fish sandwiches and a shrimp lobster roll, both had dry fall apart... More

This is an ideal beach front restaurant, but it is very crowded during the high season with hour long waits typical. Some of the food items are o.k. especially the clam chowder and grouper sandwich. Others are dreadful; for example the calamari. The Sunday brunch in the off-season is nice. A jazz quartet, decent drinks, ok food

This has the perfect location, right on the beach, a firm favourite. You can have a cocktail whilst waiting for a table - and there IS always a wait which is the downside! However, watch the sunset with drink in hand and the time slips by! The food is always good and the service quick and cheerful. It has retained... More
