This is right on the small beach at the tip of Placencia, so you can sit outside, steps from the water, and get a good service. Food was very cheap, the smoothies are delicious, but like every other place I ate in Placencia, the food itself was a bit on the bland side.

We had shakes and breakfast at The Shak and everything was great. The have a LONG list of shakes, and they are all made to order, with very fresh ingredients. The price points were spot on (in USD), we went to the Shak every day we were in the village!

Great location next to the Placencia public beach. I got addicted to the Rip Tide smoothie with Mango, Pineapple and Ginger, had to have one every day of my trip. Reasonable prices and I was not disappointed by any meal I ate there.

Never tried this place in years past, regretting that. Stopped in for drinks and appetizers. The most tender, light, and crunchy calamari I've ever had. Good dipping sauce too. Went back two more times in less than a week. Yah it's that good!

We stopped here quickly before we had to leave for an excursion to Monkey River and had the most delicious Carrot Blast Smoothie ever. Ginger, Yogurt, Carrots, etc -- try it and you'll love it!

After 3 years, we finally made it to the Shak. Have to say we all loved the calamari. Enough we went back the next day and brought some more friends with us. Good drinks, good food, great location. Will be back again before we depart Placencia. Happy to have made it in there.

I enjoyed just about everything I ate there. All meals individually prepared after you order so everything tastes fresh. Great location at end of street down by the pier.

We went for breakfast here once. The server seemed like she was in a bad mood from the start and wasn't very friendly. The food however was very good, we both had the huevos rancheros and it was worth it. Lots of veggies and the tortillas were grilled just right. It would have been excellent if the service hadn't shaded... More

Great place for lunch. Their grilled fish salad is to die for. Friendly service it might be a tad slow but it is the beach after all. I had no worries.
