Good coffee and just local foreigners. Meh. I didn't feel like I was traveling in Belize. Staff and owner are great.

The bagels and donuts are very nice. I've picked up many on this trip. The Guatemalan bulk coffee is not my favorite. It's one of the coolest places in the village. In every way. It's like a small treehouse where you can hangout with friends. Don't miss it!

We liked the coffee so much we bought some to take with us. The toast and jam is a great snack in the afternoon, with a variety of homemade jams.

We visited Above Ground Coffee while strolling the village and checking out the shops and restaurants. It was nice to be able to get iced coffee on such a warm and humid day. As much as I love coffee, I can't hack hot coffee on a hot day so this was a treat! The coffee was fresh and they offer... More

This was a daily stop for us (sometimes twice) and would highly recommend. Sitting on the balcony and lazily watching the world go by was a perfect way to spend a well earned break.

Wander up the stairs and get a welcome. I had a cold tea and companion an iced cap. Both were exactly what we needed to keep exploring the village. Alone I have sat on the verandah and people watched and unwound. But this time I caught up with regular visitors. Nice friendly team behind the counter offered us muffins with... More

This place was great every time we went there. The coffee is fresh and delicious. The iced coffees are cold and slightly sweetened. It's a lovely little tree top coffee house.

Love the view of the town from the deck. Great coffee, and a bonus of a few items to take home, including coffee!

Description
Above Grounds Coffee has established a direct connection with small independent farmers in Guatemala. Hand-picked, processed & roasted by small family operations. Their 100% mountain grown and 100% Arabica coffee beans are shade grown, hand-picked and then processed to organic standards. All fields meet elevation requirements for Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) grade and some meet the Fancy (F) grade. These two top grades (Fancy and SHB) total less than 2.5% off all coffee produced globally!
