The Ragin Cajun is really a 4.5, I just couldn't justify giving that 5th star. The best thing about the Ragin Cajun is the late night dinner menu. You can order a full meal at 2am. Nothing beats a late night pony shoe, grinder, or giant plate of cajun alfredo pasta. They also have specialty house drinks like hard lemonade.

We stopped here after supper for a couple drinks and to listen to the piano duel. It was fantastic!!! So much fun!!! The musicians are very talented and the music fun to sing song with. We requested Bohemian Rhapsody and the pianist said he would "try". Haha...he nailed it!! It was incredible!!!

Took my dad and fiance there for the first time. Both really enjoyed it! They have great fried shrimp and fried gator! Burgers are good too. I love the atmosphere and the fact you get to listen to dueling pianos while you eat! Fun place to go

My husband and I are frequent diners here and have always received great service and food. They have the best lobster bisque I've ever had. However, this past Saturday night we experienced the worst waitress that I've ever encountered. We were dining there for dinner with another couple and as soon as we finished eating she asked us to leave... More

We wanted to go out while in Alton, and this place popped up and seemed different, so we gave it a shot. It was definitely a nice change to see two people playing piano and singing instead of the usual crappy DJ that plays the same crap music over and over again. My only issue with them was they took... It's a piano bar. We enjoy singing along. The food is amazing. The bisque is perfect, velvety texture and rich taste. The blackened alligator bites, NUMMY! I got a burger instead of my usual steak. Both are excellent, as are the seafood choices. But, the VERY, VERY best thing is the white chocolate bread pudding. I've never had anything like... More

First off if anyone says this is French quarter type of Cajun cooking they have obviously never been to New Orleans. Jumbalya is not even jambalaya it's a gumbo soup with no meat maybe 6 crawfish tales and one tiny tid bit of andouille. Then the shrimp Po boy really how can you mess this up? I'll tell you how... In fairness, I visit New Orleans and the gulf cost a couple times a year. That being said, the Ragin Cajun would be considered a buffet bar or diner food at best. Is it OK? Sort a. It aint bad, it aint the worst. If your your looking for authentic Cajun food, don't judge it by what you get here.... More

While this is not New Orleans fare in spite of adverts to the contrary, the food is great, the drinks are great, the service is great and the atmosphere is pure party. I suspect the atmosphere is what people go for and the great food is just the frosting on the cake. Cajun take on old faves like Caesar salad... More
