Never a bad meal!....and we've been eating here for at least 50 years! Always I get the pepperloin, it's top notch. Years ago I got the large cut, then the medium, and now I get the small. With the great bread, salad and sides (I usally gett the spaghetti, but bhe bked potatoes are excellent too)...I simply don't need more.... More

I'm been eating at Tony's since the 70s when the waitresses wore pastel floral smock tops. They went upscale decades ago. A lot of people love their pizza. I like it but it's not my favorite. Their pepperloin steak with garlic is the standout on the menu. It's always amazing and cooked precisely as ordered. My standard order is toasted... More

For the first time since our son was born in 1995, my wife and I ventured back to an old fave, Tony's in downtown Alton. Of course, we both had the pepperloin, my wife the 6 oz and me the 8 oz. I am very happy to say that the restaurant's entree feature is still as tasty as I had... More

My wife and I both ordered a pepperloin steak medium. Mine was rare, and my wife's was well done. Didn't do any good to complain. All we got was a"Sorry about that". The only thing that was good was the salad and the baker potato. Several years ago Tony's was the place to go in Alton. It's been slowly going... More

I moved out of Alton over 40 years ago. At the time Tony's was always the place to go for a good dinner (either Italian or their great Steak's). It was also the place to go for pizza and drinks. I was just back in Alton for the first time in a long time on family business and had dinner... More

We were there on Christmas Eve. The service was good. The Caesar salad was awesome but the lobster bisque was the worst lobster bisque I have ever had and it was not hot. My friend had steak fries that also were not hot.

My husband and I, along with another couple, visited on a Saturday night for dinner. The restaurant is a cool, old place with exposed brick and arched doorways. Frankly, the only reason I gave the place 3 stars is for the atmosphere and their long wine/beer list. I ordered eggplant parmesan. My husband ordered chicken parmesan. The other couple ordered... Went with a group for a nice dinner. Service was friendly but slow. I think it was the kitchen not the server. Food finally arrived over 60 minutes from ordering. Over cooked. My local friend said they just go there for the Beer and Pizza. I think that is a great idea if I ever come back.

Description
Tony's Tuscany dining room offers a casual relaxed atmosphere with elegant tones. This dining room draws you in with it's deep colored walls, pressed tin ceiling, and the amber tiffany lamps adding the perfect glow over the cozy private booths. Please note there are no reservations accepted in this dining room. The casual Tuscany dining room is seated on a first come first serve basis. If reservations are essential, Tony's boasts four elegant dining rooms complete with pristine white table linens and service that is second to none. Of course great service and atmosphere aren't the only reasons people have been making the trip to Tony's for 55 years. Tony's is the home of the World Famous Pepperloin Steak. This beef tenderloin is marinated in Tony's secret marinade, rolled in half cracked black pepper, grilled to perfection, and drizzled with garlic butter. After one bite of this mouth watering steak, you will never want steak from another restaurant again. It is so tender it can be cut with a butter knife, and it practically melts on your palette. Tony's also sells these unbelievable steaks marinated, peppered, and ready for your grill at home. If steaks are not for you, Tony's offers 20 different home made specialty pastas, along with a delicious selection of seafood and chicken dishes. With a wine list of 60 wines by the bottle and 30 by the glass selections, even the most discriminating wine aficionado will be in heaven. For an after dinner drink one must try the Italian Delight, Tony's version of the ice cream drink the Brandy Alexander. After re-opening from the flood of '93, Tony's added The Third Street Cafe (is now the new prohibition lounge), a 75 seat bar with a charming sidewalk cafe. It is a favorite place in town for meeting friends for drinks, waiting for a table in the dining room, or bringing the family in for a casual dinner. Tony's bar and sidewalk cafe serves pizza, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and kabobs in a family atmosphere. Tony's is sure to have something to please everyone, and we do our best to accommodate any special requests you may have.
