This is restaurant is hard to find but worth it. We had to get someone from the restaurant to meet our taxi and walk us to the restaurant through the Medina. This is the best restaurant we went to in Fez. Great 3 courses. The Chef knows what they are doing. If you have only time for one meal. Go... More

My daughter and I stayed at Dar Roumana while in Fes, and we ate dinner there the first night. The food was delicious, and artfully married Mediterranean and Moroccan flavors (the cauliflower veloute was outstanding). There was a nice selection of Moroccan wines including several half-bottles. The food, coupled with the atmosphere in the stunning courtyard, made for a delicious... More

A wonderful place to go for fine dining, although a bit expensive. Good service, very kind and friendly staff and wonderful food. They also service excellent wine, which you do not find in every restaurant in Morocco. Go and see the rooftop to look at the city - you feel like in a 1001 night.

We stayed at Dar Roumana and what a great stay it was. A lovely Dar, in a quiet area of the old town. At first I was concerned our room would be noisey as all rooms look over the central courtyard, but this was not a problem at all. This area is only busy at night when the restuarant is... More

This Riad has been restored to it's former glory by the owner Julia Smith and every credit to her. It is stunningly beautiful inside - like a mini cathedral. We had the Qarmousa suite which was basically like sleeping in a small church - huge! I have never stayed anywhere like it and probably never will. We had dinner at... More

Visited for dinner with friends and cannot fault this place. Difficult to find as down an alley that is unsigned and right in the medina, but you can arrange for the porter to collect you and walk you back to the gate at the end of your meal. Fine dining in a beautiful setting, a good option to escape the... More

Excellent food in a wonderfully atmospheric environment. The experience of getting here somehow adds to the mystique, as it is tucked away in the medina with just a small plaque on the outside, almost like a speak-easy - we'd never have found it if our hotel doorman had not taken us. Turns out they also have rooms, one of which... More

Is it the romance of the location or the food that makes dinner at Dar Roumana so special. The answer is both. The food was sensational - a modern take on beautiful Moroccan food. Our entire meal was absolutely delicious but the rabbit main really stood out. We were also lucky enough to be there on a Monday night when... More

We were staying at this riad and knew that it's reputation for food was very good. It was very fine food indeed. Although the head chef was away at the time the meal we had was world class. We choose rabbit and it was fantastic Wonderfully presented and well served Fine wine too. If you want fine dining in the... More

We stayed in Fes during our honeymoon, and we had dinner at Dar Roumana our final night in Fes. We were also staying there and had seen people having dinner there at night for a number of nights, and we knew it was going to be spectacular based on what we'd seen. The ambiance is fabulous, the staff is wonderful,... More

An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Changing daily, the dishes on the menu reflect the produce that's in season and bought fresh from the markets every day. Start with a drink on our roof terrace with spectacular views of the ancient medina of Fes, then dine in our courtyard restaurant. Decorated with colourful zellij tiling, carved cedar wood, a beautiful hand-painted bartal and intricate plaster, the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. In the winter, reserve a table for two next to our open fire, and in the summer be cooled by the splashing sound of the central fountain. Adding to the romantic setting is the attentive but discreet service. Allow us to transport you to a world of fine cuisine for the evening. We look forward to welcoming you to Dar Roumana. Reservations essential.
